View Full Version : clap pull-ups
SpeedKillz 06-05-2007, 11:33 PM did these today for the first time. quite possible the best explosive exercise i have ever done! you start in the bottom pullup position, pull as HARD AND FAST as possible and when you reach the top give a nice pull / tug and fly off the bar, clap your hands together and catch the bar as your coming back down and your in the bottom position again. WOW!! a burn and explosive workout like no other. i did 4 sets of 8 reps. if u havent tried them, do so immediately!!!!!!:wow:
sounds good..i'll get right on it
MR. V 06-05-2007, 11:59 PM for real growth and definition u need to do various push-ups. regular stance, diamond position, and wide position push all need to be done then finish it off with 4 sets of 15-18 clap push-ups will give u a good arm/chest work out. fo sho. allllllllready.
ps. 4 sets of 8 reps is weak. simply my 2 cents.

even still, 10 sets of 20 is pretty damn impressive, do you rest a lot between sets?

i may take an hour btwn sets, but i don't usually take that long. its the only exercise that i do for my upper body, so i'm pretty nasty at this one exercise.
the everlast pull-up bar, pure nastiness.

where on rosstraining is that? I do chinups every day, so I'd really like to work these into my routine if I could.
Tuggers1986 06-07-2007, 05:39 AM No way does he do 200-300 pull ups a day. I cant see why he would lie, especially seeing as its just the internet but i dont believe he does that many. His upper body would be HUGE if he could/is doing that

Not really because you body stops reacting to the same stimulant after around 4 to 8 weeks so if he does this everyday his body wont react and the muscle wont grow. Also his muscles wouldn't grow as there not having any time to rest and grow back if he does them every day.

His muscles might stop growing after a few months but he must already be massive for him to do that anyway. Theres is no chance in the world i could do 200 pull ups right now. I doubt many people could
all you phags are seriously doubting, i didn't think i'd get this reception. if i conjure up the effort to do so, i'll post up a video of me holding up a sign and doing them by video ....
I don't know why i'm defending myself, its not a hard exercise when its all you do, and have done, for like the last 8 months.
200 is really not a big deal at all, i do 100 pullups - the wide handed stance, in about 2 hours.
i gotta say though, seeing you guys type "no way he can do that" has me puffing up my chest, becasue yeah - i do that shiz!

Well if you can do it you should fell even better considering alot of people said you cant. So post a vid and prove it.

I am interested if this is true. How come i have been doing bench presses for 15 years? Not being sarcastic just curious as to the source of your info.

whoops, my badd mann. read it wrong. clap pull-ups??? never tried them. shit sounds difficult tho.

what would be needed - hmmm ... a camera ... a connection from the camera (that has video capability) to the PC, upload that vid ... to where - then distribute
how can you time stamp the pull-ups? i could hold up a sign every set and the time on like a card ... but then there'd be like 15 vids, for 300 pullups.
sounds like a lot of work for you ladies, if i post them up, who gives me all their points?
tmoqsudz 10-15-2007, 08:37 PM i have a bar in my office, i do about 200-300 pullups daily, i'm DEF trying this today. thanks for this!
i believe the guy, he aint gonna lie about a petty thing lyk this and besides i was doing 100 chin ups everyday for lyk 3 - 4 months in sets of 10 and i managed that perfectly fine. it took me about 40 mins for chin ups and i did 100 push ups with bars and 100 sit ups. so i mean its possible
esponda 10-15-2007, 10:06 PM ill give u all my points ....:boxing:
MindBat 10-15-2007, 10:41 PM Mo power to ya, Speed.
I tried doing pull ups with the clap too.
Pulled up with one arm, while scratching with the other.
Even with medication the sh*t still burns.
I'm stickin' to gonnorreah dips.:boxing:
Wood23ard 10-16-2007, 04:30 AM 300 a day isn't that hard, if he had said he was doing 300 in a row then yeah that would be bs but 300 a day is defo do able.

300 in a row you'd have to be Tarzan straight up
Salty 10-16-2007, 04:53 AM Those clap pull ups would be great, is the ross link to his rosstraining website or rossboxing site? as i couldn't find it.
GrizzleBoy 10-16-2007, 06:36 AM Its all about pacing yourself. I can only do 20 something pushups in a row, and if i rush to do another set im totally ****ed theres no point. However i learned that if i pace myself properly i can easily do 100 over the course of 20-30 mins.
Now bearing in mind the guy said his bar is at work thats like 5-6 hours or more he has to do it
Imagine i kept going back and doing my pushups over the course of that time period id probably be pumping out a shitload more than i knew i could do in a day.
nedcmk1 10-16-2007, 09:33 AM "i have a bar in my office, i do about 200-300 pullups daily, i'm DEF trying this today. thanks for this!"
to do 300 pull ups in your office in an 8 hour workday that would be 1 pullup every 1.6 minutes. I'm sorry but that seems to be an exagerrated claim.

modern physiology does not agree with you.
You can find an instructional on clap pullups at www.crossfit.com
D.I.E.S.E.L 10-16-2007, 10:04 AM wow...no way im I buying baya doing 300 pull ups daily. I would need proof and to see if hes actually doing it with the correct form. And no homo let someone take a pic of your back and post it along with a vid. If you really do 300 pullups a day...in a week = 2100 pullups. You expect us to believe that shit? I'm not saying it can't be done but show the evidence. Peace
