Ricky Hatton had video showing how he did it, he would jab and then step to the side and unleash a hook.

as long as you keep your back foot planted, you can do whatever you want as far as steping goes.

Nothing wrong with stepping back as you jab, either. :boxing:

Just make sure you turn it over if you're stepping towards your opponents power hand.

Its better to step to a side or rather circle your opponent when your shooting it. A right hander who learns to step to his right while jabbing will do well against other right handed fighters..........Rockin':boxing:

I think its a good thing to do.Epecially if you have a swarmer after you.

rockin is right on the money because youre moving away from the power hand, making a power shot less likely to damage you, while keeping the jab in his face.

in my experience stepping in with a big jab isnt always what you want to do. sometimes it works and you land a big jab but it isn't really something to get predictable in doing. ive gotten hit doing that, moving forward with all my weight into a jab, and it isn't fun.
