I'm trying to tell people why boxing is a good sport not only to watch but to compete in. What can I tell them to convince them that it is in fact a good sport to compete in. I need like specific points. Thanks fellas.

SpeedKillz 06-03-2007, 02:25 PM that no athletes are more conditioned and pound for pound as strong as boxers are, and also that is the BEST sport in the world! mickeyb 06-03-2007, 02:50 PM People won't understand - because they think its so painful - and at times it is. I remember after the first time i boxed infront of a crowd and i got beat- i got beaten aswell, i was given a royal good hiding. I came out - and i had a bleeding nose and a bust lip - did i enjoy it?? YEA! course i did. They couldn't understand - but i just said - of cause it hurt. Anyone who says it doesn't hurt is lying - but just because it hurts doesn't mean its not the most exciting ****ing thing i've done in my life. From the day you get told the date of the fight, i get butterflys and i get excited and nervous - and when you get in there its bliss - finally there, I'm content. Tell them its exciting - you don't get that excitement from playing football or rugby. Its intense, adrenalin pumping and fierce. The highest form of competition, man against man. yrrej 06-03-2007, 03:45 PM There are more and more serious injuries in nearly every other sport with basketball leading the way. Boxing promotes self-confidence and is a great way to stay in shape. If this isn't convincing enough, tell them every minute you spend in the gym is one minute you aren't out running through the alleys with a gang or shooting up drugs..... vBulletin® v3.7.1, Copyright ©2000-2008, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
