The only former football player I know who had a decent fighting career of any kind was Ross Puritty, who played football at UTEP.

He refused to take the urine test after the fight, so he was probably doing something. He should have kept his old build, ( I don't know if it would have effected the outcome) but his old build could have helped out in the quickness department.

There was Ken Norten, played for the 49ers and beat Ali.

Ken Norten fought Ali. His son played for the 49ers. Ed "Too Tall" Jones played for the Cowboys, and fought as a heavyweight.

I like his tenacity and energy level, but I think he should have stepped back a bit. That is a sign of an amateur! He should fight Tommy M.

Yeah he good aggressiveness, but you could tell he was pretty new to the whole thing. He had a decent shot, but seemed not to know how to finish the takedown.

His demise was the fact he stood and traded standing too tall.

From what I saw he could have kept grinding with his head in close, surely he's in that football shape so that wouldn't wear him out.

He literally got stood up with that punch and he was just way too square after he threw that little flurry.

I'll type it once and I'll type it again if I need to. Unless you're a boxer with some type of ring experience and some decent instruction coupled with plenty of practice..........you have no ****ing business trading punches with someone when all that is on the line. Your chances of getting caught with some **** are way too high to even risk thinking about doing that.

I thought that was a nono on Johnny's part. Big time mistake.
