IMO, muay tai Curly Howard 02-22-2003, 09:02 AM Muay Thai for MMA. Kick boxing is good also but it doesn't work with the knee and elbow strikes like Muay Thai does. Kick boxing does teach you things like throwing to impress the judges and how to hold your head and good foot work. Mauy Thai has the more powerful weapons, however boxing is more practical however. Muay Thai improvises the use of feet, hnds, elbows and kness, which in retrospect gve your attacks more diversity and effectiveness. It's often referred to as the 8 limb art. Anyway, Gilbert Yvel can testify to the greatness to Muay Thai, as can V. Silva and Heath Herring.
