I'm talking about the whole of last year, id say every 2 weekends. Will this in any way restrict how fit I could get due to the effect it had on my body?

You'll be ok, just train and forget about something you can't change. You can hardly go back in time and tell you to put that beer down! ........besides, even if you could, you wouldnt listen to him anyway! haha
