View Full Version : Lennox Lewis-Larry Holmes. Fantasy Heavyweight. Quarter Finals. Boxclever 05-25-2007, 07:13 AM The first of the Quarter Finals. What a fight.:) 2nd II none 05-25-2007, 07:26 AM Larry! Larry! Larry! THE REAL NINJA 05-25-2007, 09:00 AM Larry went down way to often when fighting lesser boxer punchers. Holmes might make it hard for Lewis to land for a few rounds but I think at some point Lewis would land . Larry might get up but will be to rocked to take back control of the fight . Lewis by D Counterpunch 05-25-2007, 09:20 AM Larry! Larry! Larry! Leeeeeewis! Leeeeeewis! Leeeeeewis! titoi 05-25-2007, 10:46 AM If I thought Lewis would be beat by Tunney... what universe would we have to be living in for him to beat Holmes? Holmes, a real and great champion, shows this guy how it's done. He picks him apart for a bunch of rounds and then puts him away. Business as usual for Larry Holmes :boxing: XionComrade 05-25-2007, 11:23 AM Lewis has his moments throughout the fight, but Larry is able to pick him off and KO him by the 9th. Dempsey 1919 05-25-2007, 12:50 PM Holmes outjabs Lewis all-night and beats him to the punch, winning a decision 9-5-1.:fing02: ceboxer15 05-25-2007, 03:25 PM Holmes by decision. OASIS_LAD 05-25-2007, 03:26 PM Holmes by decision. wmute 05-25-2007, 04:19 PM I would pick Holmes right now, but this one is not easy at all porlie 05-25-2007, 04:22 PM Lewis by SD phallusy 05-26-2007, 02:10 AM larry holmes is one of the most underrated hw's, he outboxes lennox lewis in a very exciting fight M26 05-27-2007, 07:02 AM Lennox Lewis would have an advantage in reach and power, but that is about it. He was skilled sure, but I consider Larry Holmes to be even more skilled. His left jab was one of historys finest. Plus, he was faster, had better stamina and a tougher chin. This would turn out to be a mediocre fight with Holmes beating Lewis to the punch all night, to win by a wide margin. I can also see Holmes stopping Lewis late. Larry Holmes by UD. number6 05-27-2007, 05:58 PM The best chance Lewis would have in this one is to come out looking for the ko early like in his fights with Ruddock,Grant and Golota.Chances are that he would more than likely try for a decision victory and try to patiently outscore his opponent. If he did take that option i think Holmes would more than likely out score him in a battle of 2 of the best jabs in heavyweight history. Holmes takes a close points win in a boring but technically good fight. blackirish137 05-27-2007, 09:31 PM Two of the overall most underrated HW champs of all time imo. Ill say Holmes by decision, because he did get hit with the jab often. He usually gave up on boxing and came in if that happened, but I think the jab would keep him off. PHX_NINJA 05-27-2007, 09:56 PM Holmes could take one helluva punch, when Ernie Shavers knocked him down I thought he was dead, the zombie arose, and KO'd Shavers. Holmes by wide UD. Boxclever 05-31-2007, 06:05 AM Looks good for Larry. Last day.:) Boxclever 05-31-2007, 08:08 PM Larry! Larry!
