I honestly dont think that kid is faster than me, let alone "far ahead"... but I dont really blame u for thinking that, considering u havent seen me really ps- my trainers cant even keep up on the focus mitts when I go full speed PunchDrunk 05-25-2007, 09:21 AM I honestly dont think that kid is faster than me, let alone "far ahead"... but I dont really blame u for thinking that, considering u havent seen me really ps- my trainers cant even keep up on the focus mitts when I go full speed I was talking potential. If you think you're anywhere near my kid, then you're delusional. The kids a top amateur, who has won international tournaments. He's going to the EU championships in June and the world championships in Chicago in October. I doubt we'll see YOU there as anything but a spectator. And yeah, he's probably younger than you (just turned 20), so I don't see you closing the experience gap anytime in the next 10 years. McAlister 05-25-2007, 09:34 AM I was talking potential. Im just naturally quick as hell, experience has nothing to do with that... and as far as him winning all those tourneys and all that ****... yayyy yayyy bravoo... big whip, he's been doing it for a while.. he SHOULD be winning all those tourneys n **** naturally gifted talent >>>> trained talent anyday mickeyb 05-25-2007, 09:42 AM I've seen your video domain - (the shadowboxing one) and wasn't too impressed, you were quick - but you kept doing this type of tripled up jab which was just shaking your hand. I reckon your the only one whose voted for you. In truth, nobody can tell. I think anyone here has got the potential to do something.. .at the end of the day, we all have different targets. I know i will reach my target - to get back to fighting infront of audiences, which will happen in October. Although others might have other "potentials" to fill in. But if the question is really.."who is the best here" which i sincerly think it is, then you can not tell. As those who have posted videos have not shown enough, and those who have not posted at all could easily be much better. Infact there is one exception to a good video i've seen. I saw a video inwhich Ricky Feroz fought and won, he looked like a confident amatuer and a good attacking fighter. Plus he was was quite techinically proficient and fast. My vote for Ricky Feroz on the basis that he is the only one here i have seen fight - and he did it well. PunchDrunk 05-25-2007, 09:45 AM Ok, and Im talking handspeed... Im just naturally quick as hell, experience has nothing to do with that... True, experience has nothing to do with that. and as far as him winning all those tourneys and all that ****... yayyy yayyy bravoo... big whip, he's been doing it for a while.. he SHOULD be winning all those tourneys n **** You think winning tournaments is that easy? Let's see you enter a regional tournament for noobs where you live first. naturally gifted talent >>>> trained talent anyday Who says he isn't naturally gifted? You don't live that far from Chicago do you? Show up, and he'll spar you after he's out of the tournament. Edit: I'll film it, and put it up here. Don't say I didn't warn you. Kayjay's Ghost 05-25-2007, 09:54 AM Hoskins should not be listed with these amateurs. Versastyle 05-25-2007, 09:56 AM I dont know who has the most potential or handspeed but mcalister is pretty fast with his hands.I dont like giving myself credit alot,as u can see.haha.As for potential? Haha, how many guys have "been doing it for a while"? Lots. How many win international tournaments? Only one in each tournament. And I'm talking national team participants from different countries. Get it? You have to qualify for your national team to even enter these tournaments. I wasn't talking about about a gym, I'm talking about October when we're coming over from Europe to participate in the world championships (which should probably tip you off, that you're in over your head with this kid...). Meaning, once I get the experience... its basically over, since I got it naturally Which is better than someone who's just experienced, and happens to be pretty damn good just because they've been doing it for a while *if ur guy has it naturally too, then cool... but im talking about if he just been doing it for a while and thats why he's good* Kayjay's Ghost 05-25-2007, 10:40 AM McAlister I have no problem with you, but you're coming off as a little ridiculous with this "I have it naturally just haven't learned to box well yet" ****. EXTREMELY PLEASED lol... maybe u took what I was saying the wrong way, what Im sayin is... if im as good as I am... in just a years time, its scary what the future holds.. and thats not bragging, thats just bein real.. and confident.. look at versa for an example... only has 1 fight, and hasnt been doing this for long.. but the potential is crazy, all it takes is a lil more experience.. and its a wrap theres just certain ppl that just have it naturally, if u dont get what im sayin.. thens its not meant for you to get McAlister 05-25-2007, 10:55 AM i think we should all just stop this ****, post some proper videos so we can help eachother out and get some fight records! :boxing: Yeah thats a great idea.... Whether you have it or not... well all we have is your own word, and you don't even know yet. You need experience to find out if you have it, which you'll find out if you ever get experience. There's a lot of surprises for you out there. Regardless, the offer still stands, if you're in Chicago in october. The camera angles and speeds have a lot to do with it. Some cameras will make things look so much quicker, some slower, not to mention angles. I guess you can tell form, technique , footwork ect... from a vid (expecially digital vids taken by cheap cameras) but handspeed seems like the least likey thing you'd be able to judge from some of these bad quality vids. IS hand speed everything though? someone could have quick hands but not hurt a fly. Also, you'll have one person hitting a set of training mits with taped hands and another hitting a heavy bag or person with 16oz gloves. I’ll get right to the point. If you fight with a mouthpiece, you need to train with your mouthpiece. Consider the sport of boxing. You will always box while wearing a mouthpiece. Unfortunately, it is very rare to see a boxer hitting the bag while wearing his mouthpiece. The mouthpiece is only worn during sparring sessions. The sparring session therefore is used not only to develop sport-specific attributes (ex. combination punching), but it also takes on the task of familiarizing the fighter with his mouthpiece. This is a mistake. When you constantly hit the bag without a mouthpiece, you get used to breathing through your mouth, rather than biting down on the mouthpiece (and breathing through the nose). Your breathing patterns are not “sport-specific” to what you will be doing inside the ring. Whether you are hitting the mitts with your coach or hitting the heavy bag on your own, you should wear your mouthpiece. As a youngster, I was taught to run with my mouthpiece. I learned to breathe through my nose during brisk roadwork sessions. A fighter who breathes through his mouth will be much more susceptible to a knockout. You need to bite down on the mouthpiece while fighting on the inside. A solid punch (or kick) to the chin will be devastating to the fighter whose mouth is wide open. Great, so what are YOU doing on this forum? Kayjay's Ghost 05-27-2007, 06:51 PM I vote for White Hope I saw him throw 21 power shots (KO punches) in a row on the heavy bag. thats ****ing serious power shots aimed at a guy's elbows Hitman932 05-27-2007, 07:14 PM Great, so what are YOU doing on this forum? keeping it real, per as usual sorry if you cant handle that PunchDrunk 05-27-2007, 08:15 PM keeping it real, per as usual sorry if you cant handle that I can handle most things just fine, but you coming in here and basically calling the whole training forum useless isn't "keeping it real" (u mus' be from da streetz 4 realz, ******?). Obviously, having a real life trainer is the best way to go, but that doesn't mean sharing experiences, getting/giving advice, and seeing what the other people on this board actually do is useless. It's definitely a lot better than a bunch of nerds having a dick waving contest using pro fighters as their dicks. "Ricky's gonna beat [insert other fanboy's favorite fighter here]'s ass!" |
