quite a gimmicky lil thing, huh? you don't need this. refer to my replies on breath training.

one technique i've heard about long ago, but hadn't studied too much in depth, was using a certain timing of your inhalations and exhalations while jogging. essentially, you start off with a very slow evenly paced jog. you inhale and make note of how many steps you take before you naturally exhale. and little by little, over the course of weeks, you very gradually increase the number of steps you jog per one inhalation. so, you continue this, jogging as regular but with this breathing program, and you increase the efficiency of your lungs. sounds like it works, right? maybe i should study up on this method and check it out more than i have - which is not much. i've done similar exercises, but not with jogging. sounds fun.

anybody ever heard of this method besides me?

well, i found something related to the method i have heard - although, not in the detail i described:

Exercise the Meditation Way to Double Your Efficiency:

I am sure everybody who is reading this post must have done jogging. When you do jogging you must have observed that you get tired and start gasping with in no time. However, when you observe a seasoned jogger, they may seem to be gasping but they continue to jog for a longer periods of time. According to my experience, the one most important differentiator is the ability to control the breath. If you have ever done meditation, you know that one of the most important things that you concentrate on is your breath (pranayama). You will try to concentrate on the duration of breath and amount of air that you breath in and breath out. You try to manger the breath based on the feedback from the body and mind. By applying the meditation technique of breath control while jogging or working out you will be able to experience a significant increase in your efficiency.

While doing aerobic exercises like jogging, running, cycling, etc., instead of concentrating on your body, try concentrating on controlling the breath. Try to breath in and breath out slowly and rhythmically just as you do while doing meditation. You will realize that you will be much less tired and so will be able to go longer distances.

While performing anaerobic like weight lifting, bench press, push ups, squats, etc instead of using the strength of your muscles to lift weights, use the power of air that you breath in and breath out to lift the weights. You will notice that your efficiency increases exponentially with in seconds. You can try and figure out the right way for you to use the power of breath to lift weights

sorry bout that. i think i wrote it about a week ago. besides, you can just hit the "find all posts by j" and it wouldn't be far behind.

point taken though. i just don't feel like retyping something that i just got done with not long ago. so no, it wasn't a long ass time ago unless a week is considered long ago.

I don't think it will work. It looks like some guy cut the bottom half of some smorkling gear and pretends you will magically breathe better. The fact that its called "Expand-a-lung" is usually a pretty good indication that its fake.
