View Full Version : Barrera and Morales Vow Closure
Rick Reeno 10-17-2004, 02:41 AM The third meeting between two of the best fighters in the world, Erik Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera, is only a few weeks away. The two Mexican rivals have waged war on two occasions and plan to wage war one more time on November 27, 2004. The winner is likely to meet Philippine sensation Manny Pacquiao in February of next year. Barrera has a lot more to lose in this fight because a loss, depending on the circumstances, could end up being a career ending blow.
"I know that a loss in this fight could mean retirement. I beat Morales twice, the first fight was stolen from me, but the public knows I won. I will beat him again to leave no questions. I will finally settle the argument of who is the best Mexican fighter in the world. After I knocked out Ayala, some doubters still remain, this fight will show the entire world that I am back." said Barrera [details (http://www.boxingscene.com/?m=show&id=121)]

QueenCity 10-17-2004, 06:06 PM These guys really don't like each other. I think the fight will shape up to be like the war the first one was. This is a PPV I am definitely gonna get, although the undercard is crap right now.
I gonna pick Morales to win an extremely hard fought match, although like MAB I don't feel that Erik won either of the first two fights.

when it takes the form of BS
as in tarver where he hasnt done much to back it up
but with morales i have no prob
ive seen enough of him to know hes not being ****y but hes just speaken da truth
i like his arrogance
maybe cuz i tend 2 be arrogant to be
just not as talented as him
im far more talented lol :)
grayfist 10-17-2004, 10:30 PM I can hardly wait to see those guys have their fists do the talking! Like they did in their two previous conferences. :)

How many fighters have u seen NOT say they are going to win?
The only time he gets carried away is against Barrera because they dislike each other so much. Barrera couldnt stop talking smack after their first encounter, and went even as far as to punch Erik in the press conference.
Barrera is and has been ****y too.
psychopath 10-18-2004, 08:58 AM Yes . . .yes . . .yes . . . let's get it ON! i'M ALREADY SPEECHLESS. ;)
grayfist 10-18-2004, 09:39 AM Just a little historical footnote: Morales is not the only opponent after whom Barrera lunged with his fist during a pre-fight press conference (pre-fight press confab, 2nd meeting); he did a similar thing earlier to Kennedy McKiney. :o :)
