I Just wanted to stop by and say "What's up" to you all. My name's Marc and I've been surfing on this site for awhile now.. checking out the videos and picking up some good tips. I Never boxed before, But I plan on joining a gym in about a month and learning the basics and hopefully starting an amateur career soon. I'm 20 yrs old, stationed in Las Vegas (Air Force) and figured I'd give it a shot. So I look forward to talkin to you guys and learning whatever I can.

Peace.........

Good luck man. The training is good alone even if you don't persue an amateur career.

best of luck with it bro.Your in a good locale to learn the sport. Do yourself a favor and start jogging and than work some sprinting into your jogs and you will be one up when you start training.

Well I plan on joining Barry's Boxing gym next month.. I got to buy boxing shoes and a few other things they require you to have before you can start. But im looking to go amature a.s.a.p

In a way, I want to get started pretty quick, because I've heard in "BOXING YEARS" that just starting out at 20 yrs old is a set back.

But on the other hand, I wanna take my time and develope before stepping in the ring.

So im sure a trainer could give some guidance on exactly when would be a good time to get started.
I was reading some threads on here that said the average time frame is around 4-6 months of training before your first am fight.. Is that true?
