Castillo will overwhelm Casamayor inside the final 4 rounds after a virtually even fight and will stop Joel late.

What happened to the reported Dec. 4 lightweight unification showdown between Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo?

Anyways, it's another exciting match-up. I pick JLC by middle rounds TKO, Casa's boxing skills will hold him up in the early rounds but eventually he will collapse under Castillo's constant pressure and strength.

I'm not fond of guessing what round fights are going to end so I'll simply pick Luis Castillo by T.K.O. . . it doesn't matter on what round.

Castillo is too big & strong for Casamayor, who hasn't fought at lightweight.
Castillo is also just a damn good fighter...

Casamayor will box well early & land that straight left of his, but he will be unable to keep JLC off of him.
Castillo will grind him down, & stop him around the 9th.

I think stylewise Casamayor will be a tougher fight for Castillo than Corrales. The southpaw stance may giving him more trouble plus Casamayor is willing to do what it takes to win. I think it's a close fight with Castillo getting the nod in the end though I'm not going to count out Casamayor beating Castillo.
