AJ Banal will fight for a title after 1-2 years. He is a good project better than Bautista...

it's too early to tell. banal has yet to face a tough opponent. bautista could still improve after that 1 kd he suffered. after the medina fight, i think he would now be weary & cautious not to just attack but would try to put on some defense as well.

Seriously, I am impressed with Bautista. The skill level in how he throws his combos is beyond his age and ring experience. I like how he punches with bad intentions. A true practitioner of the sweet science, not a gay runner or a fraud :D

When he improves his defense, he will be a major force

bautista. his last fight was a wbo super bantamweight title eliminator. i give him a chance against de leon. maybe its because i never did like de leon and dont consider him a champion

even if he does win the wbo title. i wouldnt consider him a champion. hes still too young and inexperienced. i think he would get blasted away by any of the top 3 guys at super bantamweight(marquez, caballero, vasquez)

i cant really say much on banal, since i havent watch any of his fights

The top three guys at super bantam are bonafide monsters, possible HOF candidates someday. Bautista will be waaaaay out of his league.

Banal has long way to go, but at 18 boom boom was better than pac when pac was 18, and now AJ seem to be better that boom boom when Rey was 18...

I agree with you Chups. when Pac was in the fly and jr. feather class, there were no money fights. but when he stepped up to feather and jr light, BAM!

Look at Rafael Marquez, no matter how good and popular he is, he's is still not as big a deal as his brod, coz he lingers in the bantam and jr light.

Also, it depends on the rivalry, which creates trilogies of course (and money and popularity). I think Boom Boom could still go up to feather & jr light as he primes up, and there are bigger names there for possible trilogies.

However, Boom Boom has to put on more speed and defense if he is to be the next Pacman.
