View Full Version : Music to your roadwork!?!
mickeyb 05-07-2007, 12:53 PM Just been running and the only thing that keeps me from going insane with bordom is my little brothers ipod which i borrow. His music is limited on there, but theres a couple of albums that i'll listen too that keep me going!
I listen to Bob Marley when i run, it doesn't get me pumped but it keeps me distracted and keeps me happy.
If i need a push Arctic Monkeys or Oasis or something.
How about you?
danny stash 05-07-2007, 12:58 PM rocky soundtrack and techno
mickeyb 05-07-2007, 12:59 PM Rocky Soundtrack!!? Hahaha, i saw that coming a mile off...
what specifically?! I hope were talking about "gonnaaa fly noooww" instead of that eye of tiger crap!
danny stash 05-07-2007, 02:21 PM anything by bill conti. Dont hate on survivor dude..LOL
Its not only the music but the rocky movies in general that get me pumped. I remember as a kid when me and bros would watch any rocky film we would always end up getting in trouble for fighting afterward. I like a inspiration in my ears to help me push just a little harder when i am tired or in pain.
mickeyb 05-07-2007, 02:53 PM i know exactly what you mean about watching Rocky. I got 3 brothers and we'd always beat the crap outta each other- that and run up and down the staircase.
I guess eye of the tiger isn't too bad.... but i draw the line at the other song they did in Rocky 4 (i think!)... you know when Rocky is in the sports car in that montage...something like..."iiiiiiiiin the warriors code, there is no word for surrender"... or something like that.
danny stash 05-07-2007, 03:24 PM yeah when apollo died and he is driving in his lamborghini. Gay scene!!

I agree I need energy musik like that too. however I also like to listen to phil in the air tonight...that is my song.
mickeyb 05-08-2007, 08:46 AM I think having some music in your ears also helps me keep going just because it drowns out the sounds.
It drowns out the sounds of my heavy breathing and wheezing when i'm pushing harder or coming to the end of my stamina. It also takes my mind off and stops my inner-monologue of doubting thoughts that i sometimes get...
sometimes i'm running and all i can hear myself saying in my head is "your gonna give up soon!" "your can't make it ya fat bastard!". Some good music can take my mind away from the doubts, especially if i'm singing

Hey man everyone deserves their opinion but i promise you if you were a kid when the rocky flicks came out you would not be saying, F rocky ****; I hear that in my ear and the heavy bag starts crying. If you want to get into old school rap that is my forte, wu-tang clan, biggie, tupca, gangstarr, big pun, old DMX, thats some good shizz...
cybernica 05-08-2007, 03:10 PM Reggaeton :) and I have been listening to the same tracks over and over because I do four miles around my 'hood' and when a track ends I can tell if I am ahead or behind my time. I am doing four miles in 30 minutes right now...aka 8/hr.
Slotff 05-09-2007, 03:47 AM Slayer- Hell Awaits

Trick 05-09-2007, 05:13 AM Hip-Hop man myself. Haha, but come on, we all love the Rocky theme, how can a boxer not?
Kell_mcguire 05-09-2007, 06:28 AM I listen to No Way Out from the Rocky soundtrack. When I was 3 I named my dog Rocky after the movie. I don't know what it is but, I just get insanely pumped when I here a montage; almost like when ya chug half a fith of Cuervo. or sometimes it's AC/DC- Furror off of the Ballbreaker album.
bengidaro 05-13-2007, 10:38 PM Buy the Rocky soundtrack. That's fighting music.
.......... 05-13-2007, 11:37 PM Dipset when I'm running the track, only thing that keeps me going.
