Why did Arona get screwed out of his title shot? I thought he was next in line after his win over Ninja? It seems like he's done more overall than Quinton or Randleman as well. Also it fuels the BTT vs. Chutebox rivalry(even though he's not on BTT anymore, they still train together and are close), which is easily marketable, you'd think that Pride would take advantage of that.

As far as I remember Arona had to finish Rua in order to be garaunteed a title shot.

That's more people than the hammer house or what's left of team punishment. Anyway, it's not like there is 1,000,000 people on BTT. IT should have been Arona vs. Silva and the winner vs. the winner of Randleman vs. Jackson. In fact, Pride should have made them get through Hendo first if they wanted a title shot.

ya it should have been hederson vs arona, and randleman vs jackson, and the winner of that take on silva

Arona has no flash and the fans in japan want flash. He does deserve a title shot and I hope he gets it soon. He could finish off Silva IMO.

Pride's matchmaking has ALWAYS been questionable.

A w over a tough opponent is a w. Sometimes a flashy finish doesn't materialize. It doesn't make a victorious #1 contender any less deserving. Flashy or not, in the end I want to know what worked and who was the better fighter. I am not saying I wouldn't LOVE to see Rampage vs Randleman, just that I think Arona deserved his shot before either of those 2 guys. THEN the winner of Randleman And Jackson would be entiltled to a title shot. Those kind of descrepencies annoy me.

I don't mind if MMA orgs value a finishing win over a decision win. My hope is that Pride systematizes this so that it applies to all other fighters from now on.

A win is a win.

I want to know who is the best fighter out there. Regardless of how he won, Arona is the rightful 1# condenter

I can settle for Arona against teh winner of th titla shot against Silva, I could even settle for Arona vs. the loser of this match while the winner takes on Silva, but none of these scenarios can be called fair to Arona. He was promised the title shot if he finished Ninja, but that's a little foolish. Even if he's not flashy, Pride can still make exciting fights. Either way I think he has a really strong chance of taking the belt. It may not be until the end of the year even, but he probably will end up LHW champ.

In all honesty, he would beat Silva. However, I belive Rampage is the best LHW right now in PRIDE. He has stand-up and ground skills. He is much more well rounded than any other fighter in the PRIDE LHW divison.
