I downloaded the latest BitTorrent. Then when I try to download a file it just say "connecting to peers" and stays at 0%. That's all that happens, no progress no matter how long I wait.

Is there something else I have to do? Am I doing something wrong?

Please help
Thanks

Maybe no one is seeding the file you want therefore there are no peers to connect to.

Where did you get your torrent file from? Usually the site will tell you how many seeders/leechers there are for the file. Also
make sure you don't have your firewall on, if you do, you are gonna have to do some port forwarding, or turn off your firewall.

Baki,

I got it from the link given to me by the Boxing Torrents site. I think your right, it may be a firewall problem because I am on a school network. I will try to mess with that and see what happens.

Also, What is port forwarding?

Thanks

I use a downloader called Torrent Storm, it's the best in my opinion.

yea, schools will definitly have a firewall on. firewalls block your ports, so you have to tell it to allow incoming packets for certain ports. I think bit torrent uses port 6881-6889. You might have to talk to your network administrator about it.
