i have a good punch technique and i was wondering would doing 50 plyometric pushups a night http://www.sport-fitness-advisor.com/plyometrics-for-martial-arts.html help to increase my puncher power or would more push ups be of greater use.

Interesting Site... Can't help ya with the question though because I saw something about this being able to injure you if not done correctly so I don't wanna tell you something that I know little about.
Punchdrunk is the guy to ask.. he probaly has some tips.. or has atleast heard of this sort of training...

I think I would look more into plyometrics as a whole before starting any type of regimen. The site isn't hald bad though.

My gyms trainer uses them with us we do 20 of them then straigh on to 20 super slow push ups then 20 super fast push ups then a 30 second break an onto some more its helped my endurance more then my punching power but i've been doing them ever since i started boxing so I couldnt tell you exactly how much it helps the power of your punch.

archie moore used to do plyo pushups and he has the most knockouts of ANY boxer. i tried them when i heard this and i feel they increase the explosiveness of my punches

plyometrics work really good,it increased my handspeed.

yea ill start doing them, but is 50 a night too many or ok?
