for me personally i never used a speedbag yet so i aint gunna vote on that, but i LOVEEEE the heavybag, but i got hang /wrist injurys right now, and its made me realize how valuable double ended bags are, u can still train until ur totally gassed with hand injurys.

so im voting for double ended bag, only bcuz it can be used everyday, no excuses.

I love working a good double end bag, but I gotta go with the heavybag. Water bags are the best. And I done see cobra bags anymore, I liked them but they broke easy and I always ended up hyperextending my elbow.

I love using the double end bag at the gym and in my backyard. It gives you such an adrenalin rush when you start pulling off combos on a moving target. I remember when I first started on it, i'd jab then try and follow up with a right hand and miss and get my glove wrapped up in the cord! lol

Love using it now, it's great!:boxing:

I was told the same thing.. it builds shoulders great though.... and helps the motion of keeping your hands up...a does work the twitch muscles when ya sustain the highest speed you can go.

I like a medium sized heavy bag...a perfect one is the headhunter bag from title...it's only 60 lbs, but it's long, and very thin, so it increases your accuracy. I have an excellent setup at my house with a 300 lb spring, and used a 2 bolt clamp from everlast...First time I've actually setup a heavy bag correctly. i can rip into it with my left hooks and it's very stable. It absorbs lots of impact for a 60 lb bag, of course the spring helps with that, too.

I want that big bang heavy bag. looks good for uppercuts . I want an uppercut ring for my headhunter bag but theres no rings that small

vers wtf the speed bag is essential :)

I'm good on it for a big person, in the beginning I would just use both hands chopping down to get it going but when I actually learned how to use it I stay ina stance and get it going fast with the left jab and then nail it with a right cross. I got pretty good at doing this and that's what I do until my left hand gasses out, which is in about 3 minutes. when that happens I switch to southpaw and work my right on it the same way I work my left jab and hit it with straight lefts after I get it going with the right jab.

I used to remember making alot of noise hitting it with both hands in that chop motion, but that aint ****. It feels alot better to nail it with a power shot when you have it going with a few jabs.

Totally agree. Speed bag is probably the most addictive thing in the gym for me. However, all I think it's really good at is building endurance in your shoulders from holding your arms so high for so long a time. If you want speed and coordination against a moving target, hit the double-end bag.

I'm only just getting into the speed bag, since I never found it all to useful, but I like "half" broke my forearm... so I couldn't pound the heavy bag for a while, and I wasn't about to spend like 3 hours on a double bag...

I find the speed bag is like skipping for your hands.

It's just good for coordination, and fitness, once my arm heals up, it'll prolly be the thing I spend the least time on (between the three "bags"), but I'm def gonna try to get some rounds in, for the same reason I always skip.

I mean, we all skip, but we could just run, maybe some windsprints, some squat thrusts onto the ring... But I'll bet 99% of people here who really train, skip every damn day, regardless.

I'm beginin' to think the speed bag is kinda like that

I find that nothing does that better than a small, loose (very free moving) double bag. You look retarded doing it, in fact, some of the weekend warriors at my gym avoid it all together because you look like a fool when you hook yourself around it... It's a lot harder than it looks, but trust, it's worth the work.
