I have played pretty much all the Maddens games from the first year they came out, it is basically what taught me how to watch American football and gave me an idea about it, well as much as a video game can give you anyways.

I have two franchises going at the moment, one is with Pittsburgh, who I have taken to back to back superbowl wins (on all-pro) and averagiong one loss a year in the three seasons I have had them. So it was getting too easy...

I started a new franchise with Cincinatti on All- Madden and am currently 2-5 in the first year. This team sucks ass, I am looking to get rid of 60% of them at the end of the first season to be honest. My question is...who should I be looking to pick up? I figure I need a new quarterback, a wide receiver that can catch (I signed Antonio Freeman as a free agent, he is consistently ok for me), a couple of good pass blocking offensive linemen. Another decent pass rushing defensive lineman, and a whole new secondary.

I figure I will get some good draft picks, but any ideas who i should be looking to trade, especially any younger players that wouldn't have played much when the game was made??

I am the master at these games. If I were you, I'd definitely keep Takeo ****es at LB unless his asking price in FA goes to high or someone offers huge trade bait. You've already got a decent go-to reciever and Corey Dillon is a sweet ass running back. I think your big soft spots are quarterback and defensive secondary.

Get Anthony Munoz and Boomer Esiason out of retirement.

Spot on...Corey Dillon is carrying the side right now. The 3 quarterbacks are ****en woeful...and the defensive secondary is worse, no chase speed and pissy tacklers..

****es is very handy, and Smith my defensive end consistently gets into the back field also. The rest are like school kids

Boomer wouldn't come back...I couldn't afford him.

I'm not really a gamer geek, I just like playing sports games, like Maddens, NHL, EA Rugby (way too easy, have won World Cups as Namibia for **** sake) and Bass Strike.

have got UFC throwdown also, is ok, but am going to check out Pride for sure. Am curious as to whether a K-1 game will ever get down here.

My PS2 does it all. Without I would be extremely bored the few hours a day I am at home

I'm thinking for your defensive secondary, look into Chris McAlister (Bal) who should be a free agent if this is true to life. He'll cost you, though. If you want to go cheap, look into Dre' Bly (StL) who is a FA, or Chris Cash (Det), who has a tremendous upside.

As far as quarterbacks go, Jake Plummer would be a good FA acquisition, though if it were me playing I'd try and get a hand on Chad Peddington (NYJ), Mike McMahon (Det) [can scramble really well, I like to run with my QBs in games], Joey Harrington (Det), or David Carr (Tex). Good luck getting the latter two, however.

Plummer would be very handy...I don't like my luck getting Carr though from a first year expansion team.

I will have to check out McMahon, haven't played against Detroit very much in this game yet...In Maddens 99 (I think it was, possibly 98) I was using Detroit as my team, with Barry Sanders rushing for about 200 yds a game, I was looking good.

Will Definitely have to check the availability of the def backs you mentioned though. Thanks
