the mma discussion heere is pretty good though, go to a mma board and guys write shit like Fedor will win because he is god or Nog by armbar but noone ever bothers to explain why or seems to even know why

See I used to be a boxing fan kind of guy until I tried both. I got my ass whipped boxing and I realized that's just not my thing. I found that my strong point is wrestling and grappling; since then I just started training and idolizing all mixed martial artists. Every day I wake up and run, work a couple of hours, then go home and eat, start training, then I come to this site to post and learn about things with friends....then I train some more. I like my routines in life, and don't really have much time for anything else.

That includes females, partying, and whatever else I'm "Missing out on". and no it's not like I'm a total recluse.....I still have the odd girl that takes care of me but that lasts for as long as it's allowed to last.

Yeah, I was kinda the opposite because I started watching MMA and that led me to boxing, I was a wrestler from the age of 8 and I have a cousin whos dad is really into martial arts and he had us watching UFC from the beginning, and even let us knock each other around with gloves in the back yard from time to time. I was a pretty good wrestler through HS and I shoulda continued through college but didnt really have the drive, but I got real into MMA training at 17 and then trained exclusively in boxing for about 2 years, but I found it wasnt really for me, sorta like you i guess. Unfortunatly though I've sorta fallen out of training a bit, i think i kinda shot my load in highschool, my school was really ****ing serious about wrestling, which led us to a state championship one year and a second place finish another, and myself to a fifth place finish my senior year after falling in the semis, but unfortunately all the years of hard training sorta ate away at my determination, plus i've fallen victim to the party a bit.

Anyways, you sound like you've got the right kind of mindset and determination, and I hope you'll get where u wanna be. I believe its very important to surround yourself with quality training partners, and also ofcourse a knowledgable trainer(s) and just always try to keep on learning. Of course conditioning is essential, it seems you've got a good regiment in that regard. And keep drilling technique, for me I've always found this to be the most strenuous and least gratifying aspect of training, but also perhaps the MOST IMPORTANT, it really cant be emphasized enough. Hope I'm not stating the obvious too much, I'm sure you already realize many of these things, those are just the main points i've gleaned through my own training, basically just continue to learn new things, constantly drill what you know, and stay in shape. I think you are very well motivated for success, best of luck.
