Hey guys, I'm new to these other topics. Im mostly on the MMA forums but today I decided to take a look around on this boxingscene thing and see whatsup. And I love to train and noticed the Training and Nutrition forum and wanted to ask what do you guys train for. For Boxing? MMA? Keep Fit? are any of you in the fighting business yet? if so I would like to know thanks.

Just boxing. Completely uninterested in MMA.

But I am interested in watching people eat **** because Floyd Mayweather said it would help you cut 20 lbs.

i train in chinese boxing now. i first started martial arts(karate) over a decade ago. some injuries when i was a teenager prevented me from practicing for quite a few years although i had picked up a bit of kickboxing along the way. got back to martial arts(chinese boxing) 3 years ago. i train it for a number of reasons - self defence, the love of sparring, the study of human kinetics, fitness, etc.

i train about 6 days a week. somedays just an hour or so, at least 3 days a week for two hours or more.

injuries have and will likely keep me from competing on a full contact level. but i have had a couple of unofficial boxing matches and more than a half dozen solid streetfights to help give me real life experience. i have also trained with some top guys who were excellent full contact fighters.

good training, especially sparring, is really what makes your craft work in its intended use. sparring against different arts is one thing that helps tremendously. i feel that even boxers should engage in atleast light sparring with muay thai guys, kickboxers, chinese martial artists, etc to help broaden thier skills and knowledge.
