Out of those two, GSP/Serra easily, I couldn’t see Serra beating him standing nor on the ground, at least I figured that Gonzaga could pull a decision on the ground.

For me these two still pale in comparison to Coleman’s loses to Smith & Williams as he was truly unbeatable at the time were as I never felt the same way towards Mirko or GSP. **** at Liddell/Couture I as bigger to, Chuck was even more of an animal back then.

GSP losing to Serra was the biggest upset in history of ufc or mma....I knew and anyone who knew Gonzaga was a monster...if u look at his history of fights and championships then u would know gonzaga is a big ****en contender. Serra is good as well, but GSP is the best WW in the world.
So i picked GSP/Serra....u also forgot Kos and Sanchez...i never expected kos to give Diego his 1st loss.

Soukoudju vs. Lil Nog

but out of the choices, I pick GSP and Serra

i say the gsp upset.......cro-cop came from pride so those guys losing to ufc fighters don't shock me.......

^Cro Cop is a monster, anyone who thinks Pride heavies are lesser fighters than UFC heavies isnt ready to post in the mma forum, infact it was the opposite for a long time, and we havent seen Fedor or Nog yet.

Gonzaga winning via head kick is more amazing to me but Gsp getting KOed by that midget Serra is a bigger upset because I think in a rematch GSP wins 9/10
Gonzaga maybe is the real deal but to knock out Mirko with a head kick of all things was incredible

I went with the cro cop fight because of the end result, although I did give Gonz. a better chance to win then I did Serra, especially as far as standup was concerned, but I never expected Crocop to get brutally KOd by a kick to the head, both were big upsets though.

I voted the Mirko option.

I really don't look at this sport like I do boxing. Primarily because anything is possible when you have trained combatants who are skilled in dozens of different attack forms, as well as the overwhelming number of variables involved in a street fight. Shit let me give you an example.

You saw Severn suplex Ruas right? (old ufc) Ruas was ****ing out like a light once his head hit the floor.........Dan picked him up and slammed him again once he was out before they called it.

Is that a reflection of who's the better fighter? I don't think so. Because if Streets was prepared he would have struck Severn into a coma.

Every ****ing dog has his day in a fight.

both were big upsets, but for me GSP was bigger because i thought serra had no chance.

good to see both guys do that in reality. Mirko is by far my favorite fighter but the look on Gonzaga's face and how pumped up he was: priceless.

It's good to see a relatively unknown beat a honcho because of the obvious feel good reasons. Gonzaga did something really impressive and that instantly made him a big time player in MMA. I didn't until now even acknowledge that shit because of how disgusted I was in the outcome of that fight.

I think to many people think about street fights when it comes to MMA
I mean you got legends like Randy with 15 - 8 records but look at the opposition they have faced, a loss means very little in mma these days
I am starting to enjoy it more than boxing because atleast these guys go out there and fight each other and losses mean **** all, look at Randy Couture, lost twice by KO to the LHW champ (chuck Liddell) then moves up to HW and wins the title (dominated Sylvia) and it wouldnt suprise me if he could take out Chuck in a 4th match
Game plan seems to be the most important thing in mma
its like "first to land a shot wins"
very exciting sport, always has been but this year has been amazing
I hope boxing can learn something from UFC because I try to be a "boxing is all" type guy but its not the case these days

i knew absolutely nothing about gonzaga, so i hadn't ruled him out as a "bum" and i was actually expecting him to give mirko a good fight. when i saw gonzaga for the first time i thought he looked like a monster. he saw his big chance and he took it, it just means now there's another quality fighter in the UFC. props to gonzaga on a good win

Even though GSP is one of my favorite fighters and I expected him to walk through Serra, I picked the Cro Cop upset. It was such a devastating shot, and if you expected anybody to knock somebody out cold with a high kick you would have thought Cro Cop would do it.

I think Matt Serra is not going to be a champion for to long

yes Cro Cop went through a bad ko but Serra also made GSP tap from all those shots he was taken and Serra's face expression tells it all, he was in total shock. The reason why I picked gsp/serra is cause...

Serra got a Title shot from winning a small TUF season fighting hasbeens.
GSP is the best WW in the world.
GSP got knocked out for the very 1st time.
Serra got his 1st EVER knock out in his career and it was against someone who never been knocked out before...and it was a championship fight..now that is huge.
Nobody expected Serra to win, Nobody expected Serra to win by a KO.
now that is a huge ****en upset:o
