Trick 04-22-2007, 02:00 PM I'd also like to hear more about it, as I may be "gymless" this summer... platinummatt! 04-22-2007, 02:37 PM Have you spent much time on rossboxing, Trick? God stuff on there, guys unbelievable, clap pullups and **** Trick 04-22-2007, 02:49 PM When I was younger, I was all about RossBoxing, back in the day... I haven't read too much on it lately though platinummatt! 04-22-2007, 03:01 PM Back in the day... 6 months ago? :D Lot's of bodyweight exercises, sometimes using resistance bands and odd objects shawn_ 04-22-2007, 03:20 PM Its a great book. Ross is the man. If you really want to learn about training well, Id recomend you buy all of his books. iwagh911 04-22-2007, 05:34 PM Platinummatt! , Well, I think I might be a good resource. I've been using many of Ross's training methods since 2003-4, but only very seriously until at about the end of 2005... Ross has two books out right now: Infinite Intensity, and Never Gymless. I own both! But since you are asking about 'NG' I'll tell you a little more about it. In his book he outlines both the physical and scientific aspects to the most beneficial exercises. He outlines the best exercises for: pulling/pushing strength, lower body, isometric, core, and conditioning. He also shows you a good way to make your own athletic program design (whether your a competitive fighter or anything else). Also he explains good nutrition! My experience with NG is that I followed Ross's 50 day example plan (which is very tough btw). Then upon finishing the 50 day plan, I started my own more boxing specific plan which I still use (still using Ross's exercises and principles). Anyways I hope this was helpful, I enjoy the benefits of using his material. Between that and Infinite Intensity you have an excellent resource that could help you improve conditioning and strength for boxing or just to stay in shape. I have a huge collection of fitness/boxing books and NG and II are the best of all of them. |
