The PRIDE 25 main event was officially announced today in Japan as Dream Stage Entertainment representatives confirmed that PRIDE heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira will face Ukrainian powerhouse Emelianenko Fedor on March 16 in Yokohama for his first title defense since winning the belt almost a year and a half ago.

Originally scheduled for December 23, 2002, the bout was pushed back when Fedor was forced to delay because of injury. The mid-March bout pits the best heavyweight in the world versus his stiffest competition to date in Fedor. The Russian Top Team fighter earned the title shot by stopping Heath Herring last November.

DSE also announced that Nogueira's twin brother, Rogerio, will face 23-year-old Judo standout Kazuhiro Nakamura as part of the under card.

Well i know i'm not the only one who just splooged himself. I knew it was coming but to read that it's official is pretty damn cool. I still think Mino will win, but it'll be as good as Herring-Nog was. Now if only they can sign Nog a match w/ Barnett and someone from K-1.

Yeah Nog is going to have his hands full in this one. With this fight and Rampage Vs. Randleman Pride 25 is starting to luck really good......

On fcfighter they said Rogerio might be facing Yoshida, wonder which one it is??

This looks like a great card! I hope and think that Nog will win via submission, but I have a feeling that it's gonna be after he takes a serious pounding from Fedor. Fedor is a dangerous fighter to pull gaurd on, his ground striking is brutal! I bet that Nog will even try to fight a good portion of the match standing.
