K-Nan 04-17-2007, 03:16 PM Here is my list. I based my judgement on the jab, on how essential it was to the fighter's success.
1. Hearns
2. Holmes
3. Ali
4. Arguello
5. Lewis
Some honorable mentions, would be Ike Quartey, Hector Camacho, and Whittaker.
Your list? Opinions?

I'd have Liston in the top 5.

Let's see your list.
Hydro 04-17-2007, 03:27 PM There's really so many, I can't narrow them down.
Other great jabs from guys who weren't named:
Hagler
De La Hoya
Louis
Wright
Foreman

Great list. Before I had a chance to go into deep thought about my full list I had Holmes-Ali-Lewis-Arguello in it...Hearns deserves to be on the list as well I suppose.
Oasis_Lad 04-17-2007, 03:28 PM Let's see your list.
I'll put it up in a minute.

Good list. But Ali deserves a better standing then 4. C'mon! He based EVERYTHING off of the jab. Couple that witht the fact that he's one of the ATG's, and you should have him in the top 3.

2. Larry Holmes

I agree with this list the most. The top two anyhow. I am not sure about Winky though. Maybe Benny Leonard or an old school guy at 5 would be nice.

When Winky finally retires people will realize how much of a great jab he had and it will be revered. He has been winning fights with it for over ten years.
I''m no boxing historian and i haven't seen much footage of the old guys to be honest.
Versastyle 04-17-2007, 09:13 PM tysons was good cause thats what he uses to get in to do his damage
BrooklynBomber 04-17-2007, 09:20 PM Do you mean ever?
I would say
Louis
Hearns
Holmes
Ali
Lewis.
I think if Wlad will continue to shine he will have to be a runner up for this as well. He can throw that jab in so many different ways and with so many purposes
Dimebar 04-17-2007, 09:20 PM Hagler for me.
Of those not mentioned Breland and Eubank.
K-Nan 04-17-2007, 09:32 PM Hagler for me.

He couldn't fend Aaron off, now could he?
Breland is the disappointing son. The one who got A's in high school, but sucked at the real world.
Eubank had a very good jab.
Terry A 04-18-2007, 01:38 PM 1. Larry Holmes
2. Muhammad Ali
3. Sonny Liston
4. Carlos Monzon
5. Tommy Hearns
