View Full Version : It's been a long time
BigDozer260 04-15-2007, 02:09 PM What up BS, it been a while since I've even entered the forum, let alone post anything here. I just recently purchased a digital cam, and decided to video myself hitting the bag. I know I might get flamed a bit, but honest critisizm is what i'm looking for from experienced fighters. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=2022500969
KanMan 04-15-2007, 02:21 PM you look good on the bag, nice job
BigDozer260 04-15-2007, 02:25 PM Thanks man, I appreciate it.
PunchDrunk 04-15-2007, 03:30 PM Your legs are too stiff, espcially your front leg. You don't get enough hip movement into your right hand. Because of that, and you stiff front leg, you're kinda reaching with it, and leaving your chin out there (and on some of your one-two's, you leave your eight foot in the air because of it, too). Also, you don't get half the power in your shots, that you could have (without spending more energy, even).
You could also use some more head movement, especially after you've thrown.
Lots of stuff to correct, most of it will come with time and work, if you're working with a trainer.
P.S. Good to have you back ;)

P.S. Good to have you back ;)Thakns for the honest input man, I really appreciate it. I know i'm still a newbie, but I do believe that I have the ingredients to be something special in the future. I have been told by a few trainers(who I have yet to follow through with) that I have a lot of raw talent, and as you said, that time will resolve most of my flaws.
BigDozer260 04-15-2007, 04:23 PM i love the style
Thanks man, by default I must be a swarmer/slugger because of my height 5'10";but my 230lbs gives me a bit of leverage and power on the inside.
Trick 04-15-2007, 05:18 PM Not bad at all man. If I may add, at least to me, it seems like you pull your punches back kinda slow. PunchDrunk already touched on it, but try to get more rotation in your shots, rotate the hip, not just the shoulder about the hip. Some nice looking power it seems though, wouldn't wanna take one of those to the ribs.
