View Full Version : John Hopaete
KoolWillie 04-15-2007, 08:24 AM John Hoppa Hopaete has been stopped in the first round by former 2 time australian kick boxing champion Ben Edwards, Doesnt look good for hoppa 2 losses in a row .... http://www.boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=358180
mgkirkpatrick 04-15-2007, 09:39 AM ah yes but the first one at least has been dubbed a robbery. hopoates trainer says hoppa was back in the gym the next day (after his second loss) willing to keep learning the trade. its a good attitude and you have to remember he's had less than 10 fights amature or pro.
still you'd hate to see your record go from 6 ko wins to 6-2 within a couple of weeks
KoolWillie 04-15-2007, 09:41 AM yeah, I think he needs too slow down... maybe space the fights out a bit more... it only seems like last month he turned pro.... Good too see we have our own forum he bro??
mgkirkpatrick 04-15-2007, 09:54 AM haha yeah its like an msn convo at the moment but itll grow. haha BPP must like you better he wasnt interested when i tried to get him to start one.
infestacide 04-15-2007, 07:30 PM yeah i actually had a little chuckle when i saw he was ko rnd 1. I always new his wild punches would get stopped in their tracks sooner rather then later. i hope he keeps going though as he amuses me when he fights =D

Like I said a while ago, there's no point talking about this. Hopaete needs to hang up the gloves and get a job bricklaying or laboring.

why?
he's learning a sport and gettin paid more for it then he would bricklaying. as long as he is motivated why not cash in

This is what's wrong with Australian boxing: CASHING IN. He's not serious about a boxing career. It's a boxing at it's lowest level.

Looking at the way he fights, I'd say not.
mgkirkpatrick 04-18-2007, 09:03 PM lol are actually saying you can judge how serious hoppa is from the maybe 3 fights you've seen better than hoppa's trainer can?
come on brently
bloogertag 04-18-2007, 09:30 PM He really should space out his fights more. He has already fought 4 times this year and has 3 more fight lined up for the 3 months.
I cant stand watching him fight, he doesnt even seem to have good power if you ask me, terrible technique also.
If I see him on another ppv undercard im....well not gonna do shit really but cmon, its horible to watch
send him to Melbourne to fight on Murrays cards for now and if he somehow develops some skill id be happy to see him step up
bumpoker uyyyy
mgkirkpatrick 04-24-2007, 07:53 AM well u might get your wish mbl he's being investigated atm for a possible breach of the nsw boxing authority in his last fight.
