Would yer say ''you want nuclear weapons, well then have this beauty'' then press the button and hide in a underground nuclear bunker incase they have the capabilities to hit back

...or maybe you're a diplomatic type of cunt. You'd have a wee chat with the fella's and see if a gentlemanly agreement could be worked out.

Maybe you'd just go for the obvious and most effective course of action and set Exige on the cunts...

What says you?

I'd send in Exige and then Nuke whats left. Although there won't be much left, that I can promise.

Quite true Southpaw. Once Exige has been on the rampage the country would be just a shell of its former self. It'd be a cunting smouldering pile of ashes so it would.

The Iranians wouldnt know what had bit their ankles. They'd all do a runner and leave the country at Exige's mercy.

God help them cunting Iranians!

Sounds like awhole pile of stupid smelly poo.

Unfortunately there is only one course of action at the minute and that is diplomacy.

If the situation was to worsen (by that I mean if they start a 'trial' or threaten to kill the hostages) then there are two immediate course of actions:

1. Embargo - The UN stops all trade to Iran forcing them to rethink.
2. Military Action - Last resort as it usually means the hostages are dead or are about to be killed, Special Forces may be sent in but I doubt it unfortunately unlike the Iranian Embassy in the 80's we do not have control of the environment around the target area therefore it would have to be vehicle or foot insertion, this would be almost impossible and very slow.
Or we could attack Iran, on our own this would be difficult but we would probably be joined by the States, this may prompt Israel to join in (on our side) and cause real problems in the already unstable sector of the Middle East.

So as I said diplomacy is probably best for now, each side will puff out its chest and try and say face, I suspect the hostages will be released within a week but......I could be wrong!

According to British intelligence the British Sailors were 1.5 miles inside of Iraqi waters therefore the Iranians are the ones at fault.

All the apologising is bull**** propaganda and to be honest I am surprised that they have allowed themselves to be used seemingly so easily?

Not sure what happened to Name, Rank and Number only but it will be frowned upon throughout the Forces (although understood)

Micky, if it was you who was captured would you have rather been tortured than falsely admit to being inside Iranian waters?

Possibly mate yes, I know many on here are thinking bollocks but that's just the way it was!

I understand the sailors for doing it but I would need severe persuasion to go against my Country and principles, also I trained for that sort of thing and that makes a difference the sailors probably didn't!

I'd feel like a right cunt if I was one of them sailors coming on telly and spouting those lies. The one of em looked quite cheery an all and didnt look hard done by. I think if I was in that position they'd have to torture me a wee bit before I stood up on telly like that. I'd want at least a limp, a black eye and a broken rib.

Granted I'd probably capitulate pretty early in the game though. I mean the cunts would just have to threaten me with ginger hair dye and I'd agree to whatever they wanted.

Thats the thing a few of them looked happy to have their 15 minutes of fame!
Agreed everyone has a breaking point, if they started to cut at my knob or bollocks I'd probably sing like a canary but I d need some ****in kickin to come on TV looking like I was on long holiday!

It could be clever editing though!

Yeah that's what I'm saying Micky. A few of em looked quite chirpy and in bleeding good spirits.

They'd have to drag me in front of a camera and attach electric cables to me bollocks to get me to say that ****e. I wouldnt be standing up in front of some map spouting lies and looking all happy and ****. I mean Jesus, Mary and granny grabbing Joseph, at least look a bit ****in defiant or angry or something.

A simple but effective plan Bobby. You would be a wise diplomat so you would.

I would never create a climate in which it would be hypocritical for us to lecture others on nuclear capabilities.

The whole disagreement over where the boat was is making this trickier to deal with through the UN. Personally I don't have a clue as to whether we were being cheeky and trespassing but i know that our government is just as capable of telling porkies like this as the Iranians.

But Iran has made a balls up of this as well. They don't seem to care about their relationship with the west (nevermind the nuclear debate), and they must know that parading captives on tv giving 'confessions' will harden public opinion against the Iranians.

If only Blair and Bush hadn't made the miscalculation of invading Iraq (i was never particularly anti-war, but it has been an almighty ****up) then we wouldn't be in this predicament.
