According to a recent report by the LA Times, UFC light heavyweight champ Chuck Liddel is looking forward to his rematch with Quinton "Rampage" Jackson first, and then he wants a future bout with heavyweight superstar Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic. There's been rumors of Liddell wanting to move up to heavyweight for some time now. I guess he's basically cleared the 205 division out and is looking for a new challenge. If he beats Rampage, then this is a definite possibility for Liddell. He should probably take a warmup fight at heavyweight before fighting CroCop though.

Gotta respect chucks will to want to fight the best out there. I dont have to say hed be a huge underdog and probly would get KO'd but i still think it has the makings of a good fight. Never know what could happen.

burp. This anticipated match with crocop is merely to hype the upcoming bout with rampage. It's more of the liddell/silva bull****. It would be a great fight though, simply because of the reputation of both guys.

chuck wont get past Rampage, and Cro COp would kill him.

He has a shot at Rampage, and if he knocks him out he should be considered at the top of the P4P charts in MMA. However, Mirko is a different story.

Chuck can punch, guys who can put together punches give Mirko problems ie (Hoost, McDonald, Hunt, Fedor).........but they're huge physical specimens and should no way be compared to Chuck's weight class.

Anyways I think Mirko would knock Chuck out with a kick.

i'm not sold on this chuck / rampage thing, i think rampage has taken a lot more punishment than chuck and that liddell will most likely beat rampage, not because liddell is better now but because jackson isn't what he used to be. jackson was the only guy able to take advantange of the fact that chuck is a "bad boxer"

no way does liddell beat cro cop, not in any alternate reality, and sure as **** not this one. cro cop is too strong, too technically solid, although i think it'd be a good fight - it won't be a blowout

Liddell doesn't really put punches together though. He basically backs up throwing one punch at a time until he hurts his opponent. Plus he throws wide punches and Cro Cop throws straight accurate punches.

I say Cro Cop would pick him apart and KO Liddell in the first or early in the second round.

Perhaps....but Chuck does essentially put together punches because he's like a sloppy version of a bigger Pacquiao throwing straight shots with less accuracy. And yeah I agree he backs up throwing right hands over and over, but when he comes forward he always lets his hands go.

Similar to shogun in that respect, both lack accuracy but have a load of pop. Mirko's shots are more accurate than both though.

one of chuck's biggest assets is his footwork. his hands follow that. He puts himself in the right position at the right distance and has a hair trigger (or two). He will circle sideways constantly and take away that kick of cro cop's by keeping his legs intertwined and out of a good stance for throwing a kick Fedor pretty much did. If you think cro cops punches are better and more accurate than liddels you are sadly mistaken and liddel will make him look like a stumbling frankenstein. I think fedor and cro cop are the top 2 in the world right now but i strongly favor liddell in that match up. And i don't see how everyone is saying liddell backs straight up all the time just because he did in the fight he lost to jackson, has he done it since?

Chuck is going to knock out Jackson and get knocked out by Cro Cop. I would rather watch Shogun knock out Chuck first.

As much as I discredit Chuck, Shogun is NOT knocking him out.

You guys severely under-rate Chuck

Well, Chuch hasn't shown much since his fight with Vitor Belfort. He tries to do what Vitor Belfort did with much more enthusiasm and success, what Arlovski tried to do, win fights quick and easy with as few movements.

He will beat Rampage. They are fighting on May 26.

He will not fight CroCop...all this Liddell/CroCop nonsense is hype.

This is going to an awesome fight! Rampage handed Chuck his mohawk shaves ass to him on a silver platter, but I see Chuck returning the favor to Rampage this time around. Chuck is just too aggressive for Rampage to handel.

Too agressive? Have you seen Liddell fight lately?

He's been anything but aggressive 90% of the time. He basically makes people follow him around until he finds an opening to land a big punch. Against Ortiz he actually came forward a few times and looked good doing it. I think he's better being aggressive than being a counterpuncher. He could end fights alot quicker as well.

Ok, agressive maybe wasn't the word. How about 'Dominant"

That describes Liddell more than aggressive. He has been dominant against his opponents lately.

im disgusted that liddell has forced this fight to happen by basically
saying hes gonna step up a weight class. if rampage wants a shot at
the top light heavyweight he has to do it now, and after rampages
last performance (the 1st and only time ive seen him) id say hes not
even close to being ready, he definately showed NOTHING that makes
me think hes gonna be anything more than a decent work out. he will
probably last out the fight but still lose heavily, probably getting hurt
bad in a few exchanges. still, having not seen rampage before im
reluctant to make a prediction, i just hope its a better fight than
chuck liddell vs babalou was.

Here's my analysis: The reason Dana is saying that Chuck will move to heavyweight is to build excitement for liddell/jackson. If Liddell wins Dana will keep liddell at light heavyweight or retire him. If liddell loses liddell will move to heavyweight to maintain his fanbase and to redeem himself. Many have stated that they are forcing the bout with jackson to ensure a win. I believe it is true.

Chucks done more than just UFC and could again

I actually see Liddell going to heavy after this as Dana won’t keep his top name in the division just to be jobbed out to Shogun and significantly decrease his market value.

Rampage is a good number 2 man to represent the UFC. If he wins Dana will look more pissed than he did when Anderson Silva crushed Franklin. He will not smile like he did when Serra won the belt from GSP.

chuck will not fight CroCop before fighting either Wandy,Hendo or Shogun. Dana has said Wandy/CroCop was a dumb thing to do because Wandy losing took some of shine off that Wandy/Chuck match-up.whether we fans believe that or not is irrelevant since we dont call the shots.

off course none of this matters if Rampage wins.

Dana wants his super fight and he`ll get it
