*So I just got back from the doctor's... they're basically saying I have what's called a greenstick (I sure could go for a greenstick right now) fracture of the ulna, right beneath the elbow joint. They expect that this will take about 6 weeks to fully heal. My fight plans for the immediate future are indefinitely on hold... imagine that. I'm sittin here training like a beast 5 nights a ****ing week up until WHAAM... throwing one elbow in a practice session takes me outta the game. I ****ing hate this. I guess this is a good chance to hit 24 hour fitness and get to losing weight. However, 6 weeks.... this is rough. Very rough. Doc said 6 weeks and I could just feel the ****in tears wellin up... I was going to fight in March. No throwing punches, no grappling, no lifting weights on my right arm... basically everything I've been training for the past 4 months, I cannot do for 6 weeks. 6 ****ing weeks. 42 days. Almost a full 10th of a year.

* Nothing is going to stop me when I finally get into that cage.... partially because of **** like this, but mainly because I will not be denied my right to take the bigger **** out on someone who deserves it for thinking he can step into a world like mine and walk out unchanged.

* Things between me and the new girl are going exceptionally well. Everything about this girl is absolutely amazing to me. She's got the singing voice of an angel, the wit of a razor, and the eyes of a goddess. She's beautiful, she's quick, she's talented, and the list of things I like about her only increases with every step we take together. She's starting to like me more than she was prepared for, and I can see it. We spent the entire weekend together. I met this girl end-november.... it's been almost 2 months now.

* The more I read Matt's posts, the more I think we'd get along if we hung out more often. It's a cryin ****in shame that he lives all the way out in bum**** GarDEEEEEEEEEEna, but that's okay. It's probably better that we don't live closer, cuz I could do without getting my ass kicked on a regular basis by a guy who's 30 lbs lighter than me.

* I wanna train with Bas when my elbow heals. Then I can knock Pulver out.

* Pulver looked fat to me.

* :ghost: Look, it's me.

* I'm glad the Superbowl Championship is back in the NFC camp. I was gettin tired of underdogged AFC teams winning the Superbowl... it's about time an underdogged NFC team won. They were givin the Bucs +240 in Vegas at one point... can you ****in believe that? Alll them poor mexican Raiders fans just became a few pesos poorer. Is poorer a word?

As long as I don't have to lift anything heavy (which won't be any kind of problem if it's you I'm giving a reach-around to, Blake), my elbow should be fine, and should not affect that aspect of our relationship.

Use your down time as a time to concentrate on your diet and your mental state. Get a bunch of books and indulge yourself. It will also give you plenty of time to look at things and plan, not to mention fight videos in between all of your reading.

Great news with you and your girlfriend. You deserve someone worth a ****, which in our friendship of like a year, I've not seen you with one, I was really starting to loose heart. However...

I think you and minnie mouse would be a great couple.

I dont ever want to think about you and blake and a reach around, thanks for that horrible image.

All I saw was them white boys dressed up with skeletons during the game. They are the ones a few dollars short.

I run a lot. I can bust 4 - 5 miles on any given night. Looks like I'll be doing a lot of running... and stairmaster... and glidemaster... and... ****... I just wanna ****ing hit something right now.

Hit it with the uninjured hand. Could give you a good chance to work on your off hand.

Ok dude
here is the best advice you are going to recieve.

You have one arm that works and two legs that work and the rest of your body works except for your other arm that you gotta take it easy on.

So for the next 6 weeks, and trust me this works well....
hit the heavy bag and practive jabs with the good arm,
practice kicks and punch, as for rolling and stuff, well that will
have to wait. But practive with those simple things over
the 6 weeks, 5 days a week like you said, and do the running,
i guarantee you Dave you will have stronger kicks and a ****in
punch/jab (depending what hand u prefer or stance) that could
break a horses head.... the difference is huge:)

Good luck bro

**** Doctors...they know ****.

A doctor will give you the diagnosis so he won't get sued...what you can make your body do is another thing. I snapped my collarbone in two places a few years ago, clean breaks, started back in the gym 10 days later, played rugby again inside 8 weeks...Doctors prognosis, at least the season (22 weeks) and possible surgery.

A greenstick fracture is like a bend in the bone when a few splinters come out of it. Painful yes (have had a couple when I was younger) but a long term problem...No. Give it two weeks, then start to use it for lighter weights or just some gentle rehab. Don't hit with it for a while, but start back trying to improve it before it is suggested, you are young and strong enough to do so. The doctor would give the same advice to a 90 year old, keep that in mind.

Or as my Mum says..

No brain, no pain. She freaked when I started playing again after my collarbone...she couldn't watch anytime I had the ball or made a tackle...my old man, wouldn't sit with her anymore

Astro and Seldom, I gotta thank you for the confidence boost your two posts gave me. I got to thinking last night... and as I thought, I came to this board and I read.

And when I read, I read your posts.

And when I read your posts, I felt good about **** again.

I was sitting on my hands last night, completely depressed about stuff... eatin my ice cream (bad GhosT) and feelin all ****ty. I read Astro's post... then I read Seldom's post... and I put the ice cream down. I went out and ran 3 miles. Then I talked to my girl and went to sleep.

Today, I woke up feeling good. Tonight, I will work out like an animal. Thanks for the kick in the ass, guys. I just figured I'd let you know that your words weren't said in vain.

Good to hear you are more positive about this Dave...I know what it is like to have a ****ed up injury put you back...best thing to do is work around it and help yourself with it...you will help it much more than a Doctor will

Remember Dave, the most powerful muscle anyone can train is the mind.

Listen to Astro and Seldom, Dave. These guys have had more horrific injuries than you can imagine....

Ya ive had to train with broken hands, and when i did, my other arm and kicks got stronger because there was one less limb to focus on .... was an amazing difference:)

Keep up the good work bro.
