Talented kids, and Bus has brought them a long way, one thing that never should have happened, though.

In their last outing, the heavyweight with "Golden Gloves Experience" was out-boxed then knocked out by a grappler.

No mystery.

Ruttan's kid didn't throw one jab. In fact, the grappler actually out-jabbed him. Most amazing thing I ever saw, a boxer being out-boxed by a grappler who can't box.

Every time the grappler charged Ruttan's kid, the kid just backed up into the ropes. No slipping punches, no stepping to the right, no bobbing and weaving, he just let the grappler back him up into the ropes.

Worse still, Ruttan's kid was taller and had much longer arms. He could have jabbed the grappler's head off. That would have stopped the charges, but Ruttan's kid just refused to throw any jabs.

Ok, maybe he never learned how to jab. Why then didn't he simply set and throw a straight right when the grappler came charging in. That would have stopped him cold.

Better yet, why didn't he just step to the right and blast him with a hook?

I just don't understand.

First off, I train with the guy that was on Bas' team. His name is Matt Thompson. You obviously don't know ****.

#1. The guy he fought, Ben Rothwell, is not a grappler. He trains at Miletich and is known for his standup. He had actually KO'd everyone he faced in the IFL in the 1st round. Matt is the 1st to survive to the 2nd round. Notice when he went for a takedown on Matt the anouncers said Rothwell never does that.

#2. He did throw several jabs. I'll admit not enough though. He did load up on his right too much.

#3. You said he should have thrown a straight right and caught Rothwell coming in. But you also said jabs could have stopped him too and that Matt did not jab enough. Which is it smartass, jabs or rights?

#4. Matt was taller, but not by much. He actually did not a have a BIG reach advantage.

#5. Rothwell has like 25 pro fights. That was Matt's 7th pro fight. We knew going in that was an issue, but you just cant turn down an opportunity like that.

#6. After the fight was over, the IFL rep that offered us that fight called Matt several times to discuss business. She mentioned that both Bas and Pat Miletich have expressed interest in Matt coming to train with them.
