if i went to the mental center here on my own will and talked to a doctor there.i want to tell them that thus far, with exception for a few occasions many years ago, i have been able to keep myself under control and not hurt people.it is getting hard for me to do that though.i feel like snapping and beating the **** out of someone in the middle of the local wal mart.
i figured since i legally didn't do anything wrong they might not lock me up and may decide to treat me with some serious downers.i'm already taking methadone, elavil, and neurontin and just got my next months worth yesterday so i would have to tell them that.what do you think?

the methadone is for a chronic back pain that i have had for years and will continue to have.i was taking vicodin for it but i was taking like 120 every 2 weeks so they had to take it away from me and still give me something for the pain.the neurontin is for pain in my legs due to nerve damage.the only effects from that is pain relief.the elavil is an antidepressant and helps with my appetite.i am not depressed but this pill is to prevent it from happening.
i figured if i went to a mental place, they would give me something to relax me.it is hard to explain but most people say that i am "mean".not in the way that you think though.i am calm, funny, get along with people but in an instant i get pissed and am ready to snap.my wife says that i have an attitude with people.like if we are at the store and the cashier don't understand me, i get pissed.if someone cuts me off in traffic, i get pissed.i mean pissed to the point that it is very possible that i will stop at the light and pull them right out of their car.
i don't want to do that.what do you guys think a good solution to this problem would be?

rigid, I am being serious here, I have a question. Have the docs who prescribed all this crap........ made sure that they "mix" together well? Sometimes different combinations of medicines do not work well together, this can be easily checked by a pharmacist. Please do this, it cannot be fun for you worrying that you might "snap" at anytime.

Being pissed off and people all of a sudden is normal. Thats the way I am. I'm relaxed most of the time. People sometimes say to relaxed. But all os a sudden, say I'm working on a car of something and something goes wrong. I get really angery and start hitting things. But I've never hit a person.

You take methadone? Isnt that for recovering heroin addicts? They will probably put you on Paxil or another mood enhancer....

No offense but I think Americans to a very large extent see popping pills as a solution to learned behavioural problems.... to any problem.
1) Whats are the pills for the pain required for? (ie. did u have an accident or something where you were badly injured)
2) How long have you been on the pills for (total)?
3) Have you seen someone about your temper? I mean there are anger management courses you know (one time I was considering going to one of them myself).

There's nothing wrong with hurting people.
