Well, basically I bring up this question bcus everyone knows that 3 taps constitutes as a submission. Alex Steibling tapped 2x against Allan Goes from a Chicken-wing but they let it ride and the same with Kevin Randleman against Ninja Rua. I think the 3 tap rule is good. If the guy is tapping and he happens to get out before he makes 3 taps they should let it ride. Thoughts?

Oh yea...Sak tapped 2x against Royce too.

Could give a **** about how many times a guy is tapping. A tap is a tap. If you give up, you give up. Just like a ***** is a *****. There's no ****ing difference. If a guy taps once or eight times, either way he loses.

if you tap that means u gave up as soon as the ref sees you tapping the match should end
3 tap rule is rediculous

Nah, 3 taps is best. How about when Mario Sperry 'tapped' (one slight tap on the mat, he claims he was just going for posistion) against Igor Zinoviev and they stopped the fight? Yea his face was bleeding and the guillotine was on tight but still, its jumping the gun.

it is a tuff call. i would say if it is for positioning.... ok. Sometimes you are so tangled up, you can't tap even once and try so all u get is a half ass tap and you can be sooo damn winded that you can't say that you are tapping.

tuff call....
good topic.....

btw, ArTofF16hT1ng, when the **** are you gonna come back down to my gym?

Is Saroth the grappling dummy?? Jk

As for the topic...3 taps is good because it removes all doubt in the ref's, fans and fighters minds of when someoen has been submitted...supposedly. It shoukld be very plain to see 3 taps, where as 1 can be missed

If the ref thinks the guy is tapping, **** that. Also, these "half taps" that seem to happen. If the guy really wanted to give up, why wouldn't het keep tapping?
