Aye , love cricket me. Dougie Brown is a bears ledgend, when did you play against him? Scotland put up a decent fight...not! I reakon sri Lanka will win it but England have a chance because most of the countries are writing us off.

All hail Dougie, great Bears servant.

Australia to win, England to crash out at the first big stage. I can never get that excited about pyjama cricket anyways.

Maybe cricket is ok to actually play, but it's one of the most boring sports I've ever watched.

Dougie is a top bloke.
It will have been about 98/99. I used to play indoor cricket for Nottingham. Dougie played for Stumps of Villa.
It used to be a popular game for Pros through the winter, some of the pros that played

Jimmy Anderson has broken his little finger and may return home.

Why doesnt he tape it up, take a couple of painkillers and get on with it. Iv broken 3 fingers playing cricket over the years, but never missed a game. This is the world cup.

England should send Stuart Broad out to replace him.

The Monk

I cant believe the fuss about this, is a broken little finger for crying out load! Get on with it you pansy. Irish are about to lose i see, they have run zimbabwe close though.

OptimusWolf
03-15-2007, 06:21 PM
Yeah the paddies had a dodgy first 25 overs and zimbabwe have batted pretty well. C'mon guys, this is top class sport and if the finger affest his bowling by 1 or 2% he shouldn't play. It's different at Saturday or sunday league level.

Asif Din was a hero, won us the Benson and Hedges (or the other one) back in the early 90s with a masterful century.

Yep Chris I was referring to the nice outfits worn in the shorter form of the game. I've nothing against it I just prefer the ebb and flow of good close test cricket, plus I think my view is affected by my bad luck in watching live 1 day internationals and my amazing luck in being at some of the best test days in English cricket history.

Flintoff capsizes a pedlo at 4.00 am. Funny as

Typical tabloid coverage. Whats the problem, Botham did it for years, The Aussies are famous for boozing.
These guys are away for month at a time and are expected to sit in the Hotel every night. Its just a release of pressure to go out and get pissed.
I have to stay in Hotels from time to time with work and i hate it, and it only a couple of days every month, i couldnt imagine what its like for months on end.

The fans who sold pics to the newspapers are snakes.

Dont get caught next time Freddy.

I saw an interview with Botham and he couldn't believe the fuss. It sounds like a class night out to me, just dunno about the timing 48 before a match. The match yesterday was a poor performance by the lads but im still backing us to come good.

I dont think we have enough bowling options.
Monty is class and always reliable and of course Freddy. But none of the others convince me at all. How they have left out Stuart Broad is beyond me, he could have given us that little extra.
I like the look of Nixon hes a pretty good gloveman and perfect type of batsman to rally the tail. and thats from a massive Chris Read fan.
Still we Hope.

Bowling is lacking in depth, but i think Plunkett is underrated and could go on to be one of the worlds finest. Jimmy Anderson can be dynamite on his day as well. Im very worried about are constant middle order collapses we need someone in there who'l bloody stay around.

No mate you cant call it off. Bob Woolmer would not want it called off.
They have to finish it in his memory.
The crickets been pretty good up til now, the real interest will start in the super 8s.
Iv read that Freddy has been bowling with real fire in the nets.
England should win easy on saturday.

Michael Vaughn is starting to take the piss now, he must have an average of about 15 and there needs to be a serious discussion with the selectors about if he needs to be dropped. I personally cant believe Strauss isnt out there. Also noway in Mahmood good enough, Plunkett or Lewis should be playing. Looking forward to the Sri Lanka match, we are due a win against them.

Sometimes a captain is woth his place as a captian, doesnt matter if he gets no runs or wickets. He is there for Tactical awareness and man management.
Mike Brearly was a great captain but a rubbish cricketer, he got the best from Botham. I think Vaughn will come bood soon, he is quality.
I agree Mahmood ( Amir Khans Cousin ) is not good enough.
Stuart Broad is the man that should be in.

We will do well to beat Sri Lanka. Especially if Chukalitherine is on Song.

I agree Vaughn is one of the best captains around but at the moment we need openers who can build a decent score, hes always out before we reach 30/40. Maybe we should push him down the order to 4 and bring pieterson upto 3. Maybe try bell as opener for the sri lanka match. Stuart Broad has alot of potential , maybe our answer to Mcgraph.

I will watch every ball of all England Games now.
Simon Jones played his first game too since injury, great news for England.
Great bowler and very usefull tailender. I wish him good luck.

completly gutted! watched every ball and i thought we were gonna do it at the death. We have to win every match now which i cant see us doing im afraid. What the hell was flintoff thinking going for the bit hit on 0...muppet. Ravi Bopara looks one hell of a prospect and we should get broad straight into the team.

Just about to get off for another long day in the pub watching england toil away. Surely we can beat Bangladesh...well not confident at all tbh. Time for Plunkett or Broad to replace Mahmood and for Vaughn to be dropped down the order. Bell an strauss to open. Cam on you blueessss.
