View Full Version : How old and how did you get turned on to MMA
I am 29 and I have always been a fan of Martial Arts movies and boxing and the such and in like 1993-1994 This guy I work with was like come by ad watch this PPV, its called the UFC So I sat and watched UFC 1 live....I was sold. I dove in head first and have been a super fan even since. but i would have been like 20 years old then. and i see a lot of you are still around 20 so you would have been like 11 years old?
Big_Papa 01-21-2003, 12:04 PM I have been a big fan of Martial arts my whole life. Every since I saw the first UFC I was hooked. I love MMA. I hope to begin training soon after I finish school.
The Ensanity 01-21-2003, 12:04 PM I was young...can really remember...I just remember see that **** over my dad house or renting it
The Mouse 01-21-2003, 12:07 PM I've been a fan of contact sports as far as I can remember. ****, I remember even doin a lame-ass jiu-jitsu class at the YMCA when I was 6 or 7. Once you become a fan and it sparks a lil bit, it will last the rest of your life.
handjobs4dollars 01-21-2003, 12:11 PM I've never been "turn on"(bob is gay) by mma but I can say that I rented old UFC before and It didn't do to much for me. Then I watched ufc 34 and I started to see it was a sport, I was 16.

Kimura 01-21-2003, 10:38 PM I like the old UFC rules like no weight division. I'd like to see what Frank Shamrock could do to Bob Sapp.
Fallout 01-21-2003, 11:16 PM I got into it hardcore about a year and a half ago. I got really knowlagable about it about a year ago (sametime I started posting on sherdog)
seldomTap 01-22-2003, 12:22 AM Started TKD when I was 8, have always fought other kids for fun, along with other sports and ****. Heard about the UFC on a current affairs show around the time of UFC I, thought "this looks alright", found out as much as possible in the pre message board days, started to try and teach myself some sub grappling from old Grappling magazines, then found a BJJ school in 2000.
neils7147933 02-17-2007, 03:09 AM I'm 29 and I just started watching MMA, other than a handful of downloads I encountered in my old lounge. I could never participate as I am a little pansy girl who doesn't like to be hit. Watched UFC 67, and the Elite XC Destiny, and saw some Pride fighting tonight on FSN. I plan on getting the next Pride and UFC PPVs too. Co-workers and friends just don't watch boxing (other than one), but there's some MMA interest, so it gives us something common to discuss and it's more fun to watch fighting with a group...
BTW, Bzob having a red karma bar is absurd. We must fix that
IchiBonDj 02-17-2007, 11:02 AM Ive been Martial arts fan my whole life growing up watching Bruce Lee, Sho Kosugi, Chuck Norris, Jackie chan you name it. I've been a hard core MMA fan sine UFC 2, hardcore Pridefc fan since the 5th show but Boxing is still my fav sport.

....Yeah, and who the hell would do that anyway? I can't think of anything that he ever said that would piss anyone off.

Audley. It's a terrible injustice that Audley can make anyone he wants red. Good posters like Evil Meat, platinummatt and three or four others have been made red because they get on audley's ****list. And you don't have to do anything wrong to get on that, just support a fighter he doesn't like or something.

Audley can't turn somebody with max karma red, he wouldn't even try because he knows that.

True but he can turn most posters on the site red. He could turn me red if he decided. He wouldn't try it, but he could. And posters should be red by a consensus (e.g., Diego, SIN, pbftxrs, etc.), not because one retard dreams up an argument with them.
