Do people act different towards you when they find out your a fighter or that you train in martial arts?
I went to work last week with a cut on my eyebrow I got during sparring and had to tell everyone how I got it.
Now I have guys telling me about all the fights they have been in.
They also do that thing where they walk up and start throwing fake jabs.
I never told anyone about training or anything at work before because of this.
Also I'm 155# and now I got guys walking up and saying "I bet I can beat you"
I'm not in to street fighting and I don't act like a tuff guy so why would someone just walk up to you like that and basically challenge you?
I was just curious if this happens to anyone else?

Thanks..I just train and help with some self defense classes in exchange for gym time. I guess I should have told them I got cut by a women. Maybe that would have helped. We did a no pads walk through where I would grab them from behind and they where supposed to slowly walk through and she got excited and let me have an elbow. All I could do is smile and tell her she passed.

Yes I get treated very differently when people find out that I am a fighter. But when they know not to fake punches at me cause I might react. You just got to let them know you get punched at enough at practice and when your out of training you like to enjoy life and not worry about punches flying at you. But I dont look like a fighter out on the street, so you can imagine how many people step on my toes! But once I give them the look of "you dont even know man!" they pretty much get the point that I fight all the time and have no problem rollin around once more out of practice. So they move on.

The the worst I every had was. You don't look to tough. What if some guy that knew Kung-fu came at you. Then you would be knock out.

I got a kid pledging my frat thinks he is hard. says he will be fighting UFC house shows.

he asked me the other day when the next time i was trainign was I told him "monday boxing and Vale Tudo" he says and i quote "OH MAN I HATE VALE TUDO" how the **** you gonna fight NHB and hate Vale Tudo?

then he tries to step to me wit hthis bouncy kinda shaky boxing stance hands all down and ****.

if he didn;t just get pinned to predge he would have been floored but i didn;'t cause he became a libalitiy once he got pinned.

Thanks for the help.
Guess I'll just have to get word out that its not a good idea to walk up and start throwing hands.
I was just curious if it was my size or if this happend to everyone.
I guess people act stupid with bigger guys too.
