are supplementary exercises needed...right now, i do interval sprints, pushups, pull ups, etc. after my boxing workouts. but wouldnt it be better if I did extra heavybag sets or extra shadowboxing rounds instead of doing the things above?
like instead of doing clap pushups for explosiveness, i can do an extra set or two on the heavybag and focus on the speed.

There's really no way to answer this question. Your body needs to be as strong as you can make it, but you also need to hone your technique. This is why a lot of us train for 2 hours a day, plus morning roadwork, plus quick sets of exercises during the day. You need to do it all.

You lift weights? You should if you don't; espeically train your legs and core for more punching power.

yes, weightlifting is good. The amateur game is a lot more focused on power than you might think, its not that hard to hurt people in it an allow for more points to be scored..
