Alright gents I've shared with you in the past my love for Gerrard, but I might just reconsider it.

In Instanbul I was uncertain about the third goal. The video did not show decisively what happened. Part of me wanted to fault him for going down easily, but the better part of me was overwhelmed by the moment, weighed the circustances heavily (down a goal in the Final, second half), and swayed by his brilliant performance at right back to close the show (was it just me or did he prove he could be an unbelievable as well??).

But since then he has shown a penchant for, or at least been accused of, going down easily even in domestic matches. This would violate everything I stand for, and everything I fought for in nearly thirty years of amateur football. I would intentionally miss a penalty if I thought a teammate had earned it unfairly. And I always thought that Gerrard was the perfect combination of craft and graft, a workingman's footballer but also world class. I never minded Owen diving because, let's face it, the boy was a bit soft anyway.

Tell me it's all ok guys.

Its ok pal, to be honest I dont blame Gerrard, the defender saw him warn the ref but still grabbed on so who is to blame?

Defenders have been doing this for years but its blatant obstruction, Im a Manc blue and see it every week, bout time someone put a stop to it!

Gerrard is not a regular diver and puts up with more bad tackles on him than most. It's just that he takes advantages of situations, mainly in the box.

In his autobiography he talks constantly about foreigners diving and says that it's ruining the game, but he also says English players may need to start diving to 'even the score'.

It's also exaggerated every time he dives because he's English. Watch a player like C. Ronaldo or Henry and they dive constantly, Gerrard does it once in a game and he's jumped all over for it.

In the Milan game I feel Gerrard went down so easy because he was tiring and knew he didn't have the strength to pull away from Gattuso so he went down. And it was a stone-wall penalty in my opinion.

In this weekends game against Sheffield United the first penalty he won he was looking for, but again he was brought down in the box and the player had already been warned about holding onto Gerrard.

No need to worry KayJay :fing02:

The defender had plenty of opportunity to release Gerrard, he didn't so more fool him???

I dont like diving or conning a referee but I honestly cant see how that was, it was a poor pen yes but it was a pen, the defender obstructed an attacking player in the box, thats a pen!

Stevie is a winner, the guy played straight into his hands so you cannot blame him for taking the chance. It didn't affect the game overall Liverpool won comfortably so....

Well said mate.

I couldn't believe Warnock at the end of tha game.

"I'm disappointed with Steven. I didn't expect that from him. I've lost some respect for him".

You're a Liverpool fan aren't you?

Please will you sign the petition to give Bob Paisley a posthumous knight-hood?
