View Full Version : Ok I am back from my THai match
academiachuteboxe 01-18-2003, 02:00 AM Well guys things went well for about 45 seconds tonight. I landed a couple good leg kicks- threw a big head kick that missed unfortunately. Next thing I know I am out freakin cold in the ring. Big right hand knocked me out cold. Don't remember much about it. Moral of the story is this- you can lose to anyone at anytime with one punch. Much credit to Josh Williams. Good guy- good fighter- took the fight with me weighing 194 to his 180. Knocked me flat out in under a minute. Congrats man - great job. SOrry to the crowd for not fighting better but it just was not my night.
Don't ever underestimate an opponent guys.........ever.
Kempo Chris 01-18-2003, 02:02 AM tru dat jus keep on training and fighting
handjobs4dollars 01-18-2003, 02:04 AM Sorry man, best of luck in your next fights.
wondermut 01-18-2003, 02:06 AM You are a good man for posting this. You have any effects from the ko and do you remember anything?
academiachuteboxe 01-18-2003, 02:14 AM I don't remember much to be honest. However, I am fine now. We just drove 2 hours home. I was a little sick in the car but I am fine now. I want to stay up for a while though.......not good to sleep on a concussion.
I thought about not posting it because I know some will bash me for it but then again I don't care. I wanted to let you guys know how it went.
wondermut 01-18-2003, 02:20 AM Thats great bro. Make sure you wait a bit b4 taking anymore shots to the head. If you feel dizzy and sick for the next few days dont train hard and see a Dr.
academiachuteboxe 01-18-2003, 02:22 AM oh yeah I was supposed to fight MMA march 1 but I am not now. I'll take a week off of striking and just teach BJJ to our new guys probably.
wondermut 01-18-2003, 02:23 AM Is this ur 1st concussion?
academiachuteboxe 01-18-2003, 02:24 AM no second one. First one was in my second fight. IT was back in August though. It was severe...this one is not as bad.
wondermut 01-18-2003, 02:28 AM They say rest is the best thing for it. Oh yeah, actually the best thing is to not get another one. Other than that rest up!
academiachuteboxe 01-18-2003, 02:31 AM I don't plan on getting another one anytime soon! My daughter is going to be born soon so I will take a break for a while. I will probably teach BJJ/Vale Tudo to our new guys for a while and see how it goes from there. I need to take it easy man...I have been training every night for a year pretty much.
academiachuteboxe 01-18-2003, 02:31 AM goodnight guys...........thanks for the support.
wondermut 01-18-2003, 02:33 AM NP bro...night and take it easy.
Jay Pan ROKK 01-18-2003, 08:08 AM ACB you are a brave man ... do not care for a lost or a winning these are just nothing ... thanks for sharing ...
HockeyFighter 01-18-2003, 12:16 PM You live and you learn. As long as you don't repeat the same mistakes it doesn't matter if you win or lose. Just learn. With dedication and heart there are no real loses, something is always gained.
rtbrouwer 01-18-2003, 01:24 PM Like I said in my column.. I don't think you can see a fight as a loss.... You may have not beat your opponent but as long as you learned something you have always won! And besides that you also win respect by stepping into the ring. Props to you bro!
DOGGx0 01-18-2003, 01:29 PM Academia...
you win some, you loose some. U make some good, valid points and i commend you for that. It can be any given punch doing that. You are a true soldier...... just stay focused and keep fighting...... you are only moving forward. Learn from this and impliment it in your future fights.
It takes a real man to see and admit to what he is lacking, and/ or doing wrong. As long as you give it your best shot and learn from it bro. Good luck in future fights.
momita 01-19-2003, 10:31 PM Hey Academia, you have nothing to apologize for, I'm glad you are ok! And you are right you can lose to anyone at any time, but you gave it you're all, be proud, and congratulations on having a little girl soon!
Much respect.
Some times you eat the bar...and well sometimes the bar...she eats you..
you should be proud. you do what most people dream about
seldomTap 01-21-2003, 01:45 AM Luck hard on the KO, these things happen though, there will be another time.
