I know this thread has been made a bunch of times...
but people's opinions change as time goes by....

Notorious BIG - Ready 2 Die
Nas - Illmatic
Wu Tang - 36 Chambers
AZ - Doe or Die
Mos Def and Talib Kweli - Black Star
A Tribe Called Quest - The Low End Theory
Mobb Deep - The Infamous
Boogie Down Productions - By All Means Necessary
GZA - Liquid Swords
Ghostface Killah - Ironman

This is probably my official top 10 favorites....It's the albums I've never gotten bored of and I consider these albums to represent real hip hop...

i don't see red and meths "blackout" on your list. what gives? out of all the top ten lists of albums i've ever seen, "blackout" was on every single one.

you have an ok good list. don't care for AZ or mos def. can't stand naz much although i did like illmatic back in the day.

never liked biggie.
GZA's liquid swords, however, is a masterpiece.

i like:

doom's - the mouse and the mask(every song classic)

red and meth's - blackout(outstanding duo)

red's - muddy waters(one of the greatest albums bar none)

eightball & mjg's - on top of the world(back when suave was running ****)

red's - ill at will(both are masterpieces)

i will stop now. there are a lot of albums i like. old school erik b and rakim, south circle, rae's only built 4 cuban links, etc.

Redman is one of my favorites. Probably one of the only rappers with three masterpieces.

Redman- Whut Thee Album, Muddy Waters, Dare Iz A Darkside. Others I feel with more than two great albums are Pac, Cube, and Nas.

yessir! red is the greatest. he's always coming with something fresh and new, but still retains his patented wit with comedy and really funky ass raps. even on malpractice, which was decent by his standards, is still a better than average album.

he is my fave.

btw, you left out the ill at will mixtapes which are absolute classics. the first four or five songs on ill at will vol 2 are some of the best **** you will ever hear. if you need it, let me know.

Ironman is not a classic IMHO. Same goes with Blackout, maybe it's I've never been a HUGE fan of METH.

As for my top 10, it changes a lot, but ones I specifically don't get bored of are as follows:
Nas- Illmatic
Biggie- Life After Death
Biggie- Ready To Die
Jay-Z- Blueprint
Raekwon- OBC4L
Mobb Deep- The Infamous
Mos Def- Black On Both Sides
Dr.Dre- 2001
Snoop Dogg- Doggystyle
Dr.Dre- The Chronic

...it changes a lot, so...

I wouldn't argue against Black On Both Sides. That album is pehenomenal a focused Mos Def and artisticly at his best. All I got to say is New World Water listen to that joint. And 2001 was a great album as well. Great production with great guest appearances.

Not denying they are good albums. I'm just questioning him saying that those are classics and Ironman is not. Ironman is iller than the both of those albums. And Dre 2001 was hot but it was no Chronic

Iron Man's skits were hilarious. Right before one song some chick is like "That was the best ****ing I ever had" I rewinded that a million times.

damn, that was a classic from start to finish. Nice production all the way through from DJ Premier and Lord Finesse and great guest appearances by Big L, Freddie Fox and some others.

I need to find some way to fit that into my top 10.
