A mod chip, over rides the programing in your ps2 and tells it to play burned games and dvds from other countrys. Search on yahoo for modchip and you'll find some sites.

Thtas a good site for modchips. But try to get the one that has the least amount of ripping your PS2 apart and playing with the wires.

i didn't even pay attention to how it went in there.i was thinking it would plug into the memory card slot or something.

No it may require that you rip your ps2 open and have to work with the wires. .

if you want a chip that will play the dvd rips, you WILL need to get a chip that requires soldering, and if you **** up, your ps2 is toast. The magic 3.5 is the best chip, either that or the messiah2, both require 20+ wires to be soldered to the motherboard of your ps2. They have clips that are supposed to make **** easier, but they don't, they **** more **** up cuz they touch the bios wires and cause shorts. don't even bother with the no solder chips, they don't work all the time on DVD burns, and some can't even play 80min cd's

and every ps2 chip out there requires you to open up the ps2, some just plug in to existing ribbons and plugs, the others have to be soldered in. either way you gotta take it all apart.
