As many of you knew, my grandma was very ill in recent days. She passed away on the morning of January 11, at the age of 97. My grandmother was the gentlest, kindest person I knew. She was also courageous in letting my entire family know that I was her favorite grandchild among her 15 grandchildren. I experienced some jealousy among my cousins and my brother and sister, but I felt honored to be number one in her eyes. My grandmother will always hold a special place in my heart.
