Duran was one of the best lighter boxers but he was constantly outsized by his opponents such as hearns and leonard and i personally believe he should have been fighting at light weight.

He would have been weight-drained IMO had he attempted to remain at 135 for the rest of his career. Sides, if he'd stayed there, we wouldn't have had his win over Leonard, he brutalizing of Davey Moore, his 15 round fight with Hagler, or his win over Iran Barkley. Or his two round ownage against Hearns!!:D K-DOGG 02-17-2007, 08:15 PM Or his two round ownage against Hearns!!:D Fly, this is the way I look at it. Boxing is a metaphor for life and I know of no one who goes from the cradle to the grave without stepping in a few post-holes. The difference is that Duran, Ali, Louis, and even Bruce Stouse live their lives for out entertainment, right before our very eyes. As long as they live it will and live it bravely, I am not one to critisize them....especially a man who has lived as many lifetimes as Manos de Piedras. ;) Phantasm 02-17-2007, 08:57 PM Fly, this is the way I look at it.
