A lot of people who went to the fight were saying on another forum that it was an early stoppage, and Thompson was still trying to scramble for the takedown but wasn't given a chance by the ref.

Unless Bean ever somehow develops anything remotely resembling a ground game this is going to happen to him down the road.

This whole K-1 extraordianre is becoming old. Esch isn't going to make a real name for himself in MMA just like he didn't do in boxing.

Not sure if Cagerage could sell this as a big fight again,Thompson has lost his
last 2 fights on the show by ko.I imagine they would both be big earners so Cagerage would be taking a big gamble to use this as a main event again.It shouldn't have been last time,the British Cagerage heavyweight at the time Rob Broughton had stopped both fighters in 2006 but they still went with this as the headline even though Broughton was on the bill.

theirs a slow mo replay on youtube and butterbean missed that last punch by like 5+ inches and james just slipped....horrible stoppage and i demand a rematch

he has won a few fights by submission but still imo i dont rate him highly..
that mark hunt fight would have been interesting but hunt would have won that...

he didnt k.o. thompson first off....please rewatch the fight!

also his right/left hooks seems to end his fights, not his belly! hes a good boxer and i think hes a solid c class fighter who has enuff power to finish an a+ class fighter IF he lands....

i agree with you on hunt....i dont think he is world class....hes extremely lucky in his decision wins aganist cro-cop/wand (which i had losing in both), and he just used his weight aganist fedor and got subbed!

i still think it would have been a great fight, hunt seems to take punches to give punches with the best chin in mma/boxing...i havent ever scene anyone take butterbeans big punches w/o going down...so i was really intrested in seeing it! even thou i dont care at all of who wins, their still not going anywhere but it would entertain me! LOL
