Neuraxis 09-20-2004, 05:15 PM What's the point of going out after another loss to an opponent who isn't that great to begin with? mic573 09-20-2004, 05:16 PM I think he should fight Tarver to finish the trilogy first. Then IF he wins and I do mean IF him and Bernard should try to make the rematch. Bernard should have his 20th defense by then. I would like to see Bernard and Jones fight again but I don't really want to see all the bull**** the negotiations are going to bring. Neither man wanted to give into the other last time and I think it's going to be even tougher this time. jack_the_rippuh 09-20-2004, 05:21 PM I agree...But I would hate to see Roy retire... SweetScience 09-20-2004, 05:35 PM Tarver he HAS to fight Tarver and beat him. The Fix 09-20-2004, 05:36 PM hop and roy should split the money now that bernard has gained a more mainstreem name after beating dlh. roy already established his name back in 94' after beating james toney QueenCity 09-20-2004, 06:14 PM I want to see Jones/Hopkins at 168 pounds right after Roy takes care of Johnson. I think it would be a great fight, much better than the first. As for Tarver, I think he should just move up to Heavyweight. He's looking for a big money fight-- So how about a matchup with James Toney. It may not be PPV quality but it will make Tarver much more money than he usually gets. Neuraxis 09-20-2004, 08:06 PM I agree, Toney is one of the few top ranked HWs that Jones would have no trouble beating. The Fix 09-20-2004, 09:51 PM i actually do not see roy jones losing for the rest of his career if he is careful SonnyG8R 09-20-2004, 10:31 PM I want him to fight a rubber match with tarver and then finish his career with a huge payday and huge victory against Hopkins. I think BHOP should show some courage and move up to 168 at least, but I doubt he's man enough. :p Winter 09-20-2004, 11:12 PM I want him to fight a rubber match with tarver and then finish his career with a huge payday and huge victory against Hopkins. I think BHOP should show some courage and move up to 168 at least, but I doubt he's man enough. :p I agree with you again Sonny. ThaGreatest1 09-21-2004, 01:20 AM why do u want him to retire so bad...? TheGreat1 09-21-2004, 03:14 AM What's the point of going out after another loss to an opponent who isn't that great to begin with? r u refering to Tarver? tarver is a great fighter. grayfist 09-21-2004, 04:28 AM I agree, Toney is one of the few top ranked HWs that Jones would have no trouble beating. So three more fights? Tarver, Hop and Toney?! Great! If they happen. markosg19 12-28-2004, 11:27 AM Roy needs to fall back in love with the sport that made him a GOD. bpapa420 12-28-2004, 11:30 AM I dont think jones should fight again, he is clearly shot KJ 12-28-2004, 03:30 PM I dont think jones should fight again, he is clearly shot Agree with that. Nothing of the "old" roy left in the fight against Johnson, except an very old RJJ. ;) Mr. Ryan 12-28-2004, 03:51 PM Jones has just about had it. Unless he wants to be further humiliated, he needs to really give it up or face the inevitability of another painfully embarrassing knockout. Xecutioner 12-28-2004, 04:15 PM he needs to retire ASAP. his reflexs are gone, hes never had good fundementals. he relied on natural ability alone, now he cant get out of the way of punches and just gets wrecked. two devastating kos in a row, its time to hang them up. !! Anorak 12-28-2004, 04:26 PM "Roy should just retire" could have been an option. You know what I'd love? For there to be a genuine reason why Roy's punch resistance evaporated (the weight loss?) and for all his superpowers to return. Roy goes on to take shot after shot against Tarver and Johnson just to prove his point, then devastingly KOs them both with single shots in the first round. To prove he ducks no one, he clears up the entire Cruiserweight division, then does the same for the heavyweights, proving his prediction against Vitali, as well as taking out Byrd, Rahman, Scrap, Brewster and working Ruiz over again. Lennox comes out of retirement and he beats him emphatically too. I'd love that to happen. But I'd also love Ali to come back and be as great as he was. bpapa420 12-28-2004, 05:06 PM I think it had to do with the weight loss. He looked horrible at lt heavy after comming down in wieght. Mr. Ryan 12-28-2004, 05:14 PM I think it had to do with the weight loss. He looked horrible at lt heavy after comming down in wieght. He has no one to blame for his shortcomings except for himself. jack_the_rippuh 12-28-2004, 05:18 PM He has no one to blame for his shortcomings except for himself. I agree. That's the samething everyone said about James Toney when he got destroyed by Jones. So it's only fair for Roy to take the blame for what happened to him... Kimmy 12-28-2004, 05:26 PM Jones should never fight again. He has suffered devastating KO losses back to back and it can not be healthy to take that sort of abuse. With his reflexes gone he is prime for the kinda punch that leaves you permanantly hurt. He should retire now! Ivansmamma 12-28-2004, 05:29 PM He shouldn't fight again, he should retire. He's too old and is nothing without his reflexes. phallus 12-28-2004, 05:40 PM I agree. That's the samething everyone said about James Toney when he got destroyed by Jones. So it's only fair for Roy to take the blame for what happened to him... Roy has nothing to prove anymore. i don't want to see him KTFO'd again, he should retire borikua 12-28-2004, 06:05 PM He should take some time off and then comeback for a mega fight against B-Hop or Tito bpapa420 12-28-2004, 06:17 PM Hes having trouble making lt heavy, what makes you think he will make middle? |
