I think you are a hateful bastard. You told me my nuts should be tightly wrapped in barbed wire. Thats not the image of an "unangry" man.

You told me my nuts should be tightly wrapped in barbed wire.

I said that your nuts should be wrapped in barbed wire, then you should be hung by them off of a pole. But yes, I meant that out of love.

I dont think unangry is a word, so my post should be retracted.

You know I love you. See, I've noticed lately that I've been kinda edgy, and I'm tryin to soften up a bit. Ever since Sunday night when I was at a pool-hall and got in an arguement with a skater punk kid.. he wanted to fight, so we went outside and i knocked him on his ass with a clean right hook, and he gave up.

But after that I was like damnit, a year ago I would never have let it come to that and would have been passive. I'm not that passive anymore.. and because of it some people think I'm a jerk sometimes, so I'm tryin to watch myself more... so I started this thread to see what everyone thought.

Your looking for acceptance?

Weak.

On the other hand, I like you alot. I wouldn't worry about the being passive/aggressive its just per instance, you just wanted to beat up on the skater boi. It happens, just watch out for getting in trouble with the 50.

Well, you're not so angry or *******-like that you put yourself above what others think... and that's cool. :ghost: When people mistake weakness for kindness, it's almost the same as mistaking strength for hostility... don't make that mistake with anyone, even yourself. You'll find yourself in the company of much better people once you can apply knowing the difference.

No not acceptance.. just knowlege of myself through an outside source (like u guys), so I can change what needs to be changed. And the fact is that I always want to fight.. always, even when I go to a party I scope out who's in the room and find myself lookin for trouble. It sux, and have taken the first step in changing, with viewing the problem from an outside perspective.

yeah what ghost said, and you should have beat his face in with his skate board!

No dude, after I knocked him down I walked away in shame.. cuz right then I remembered how I used to be in the past, and how I've changed. I knew that the fight wasn't necessary, and was ultimately pointless after I knocked him down.. ever since I been thinkin bout this.

Doesnt it make you feel goot to hurt people weaker than you?

The Mouse
01-14-2003, 12:03 PM
No.. it feels good when I fight a guy my ability, or better than me.. and I win. But this dude wasn't even a trained fighter, didn't know what the hell he was doin, and was smaller than me... no, I don't get off on beating people that are smaller/weaker than me.

On the level matt, I am glad you have found a flaw in your character and are actively working to correct it. That shows more substance in a person than I normally see from people on the internet.

Matt, I know pretty much exactly what you are saying...I am similar and have been told what an ass I am one more than a few times.

It is a balancing act trying to get yourself so that you are true to yourself and still a normal member of society...if I had the answer I would share it

For me atleast.. its hard being a fighter, and still being a lover at the same time.. i know that sounds lame. But like, when i get in the zone, and train like never before and reap awsome benefits, my love life goes to **** cuz i treat girls like they are second in my life aside from fighting. i gotta find a nice medium that creates a balance between the two, and i can please both sides.

VulgarTheClown

Matt,

I too am currently strugling with that. I want to train everyday all day, eat well and go to sleep, but i'm Juggling Training (which is #1 no matter what) with my g/f, school, and working so i can afford the previously mentioned 3.

Its really hard.

I am quite suprised at this introspective look at yourself Matt. Definately not the style of posts I think the Global community are used to (ie. I'LL BITE YOUR HEAD OFF).

I think Seldom said it best. It's about finding that balance.

What I find interesting is how so many fighters can train in fighting and yet completely miss the spiritual component of martial arts. Two of the greatest virtues espoused by 90% of all martial arts (especially those with an Eastern influence) are self-restraint and balance.

The upside is, at least you acknowledge that you have a problem. :) And they say that's the first step to resolving it.
