From this other board I frequent, I realize there are some heads (mainly west coasters) that swear DJ Quik is one of the illest lyricist/producers ever. I couldn't believe what I was reading but after some time I realized hes like a god out there.

Im a bit shocked by this to say the least.

I can't believe that there are some hiphop fans that hold this clown in such high regard. This jheri curl fool is straight up TRASH, how the **** can anyone claim he is ill? We look at him as a absolute joke, a perm having CB4 spoof. In the East he doesn't even get half a thought of having skills like say Dre, Snoop or Cypress etc would.

He may be one of the worst rappers I have ever heard in my life. His production is nothing but G-Funk, West Coast beats that only people out that way like. Not tryna diss anyone, but if anyone can tell me why and how this dude can get props, I'd like to hear it.

Honestly I haven't heard all of his albums but, I do respect his music. He has other great songs I'm sure but I haven't heard his whole catalogue. But some people don't like the West Coast sound it's understandable. But he is true to the game I've heard Julio G talk on the radio how this guy is really into his production. And Big Boy (power 106) talks about how he comes to shows really early and and listens to his set from different areas in the audience to make sure everything is right.

I think your over exaggerating by a lot. He might not be the ncest technical rapper. But he's good I have heard far worse emcees trust me.
