well I fight as a right handed southpaw,an outfighter counter puncher.
I am very good at my footwork.
I feint and poke a lot.
have some good combinations.
pretty good defense as I don`t just block,I slip,weave and parry too.

but thing is I am really pressured when I fight with infighters that seems to burst towards you.(those who never steps back and have good chin)

so I am asking outfighters here in bs how do you handle those types?
and how do you guys take hits when you get some nasty shots behind the ear or even the top of the head?

I`ve been tucking my chin a lot so I don`t get nasty uppercuts on my jaw.
but in turn when I duck I get hit on top of my head which I really don`t like the feel off.

Well I'm in the same boat as you, but orthodox. I know you may think your jab is fast, but it could be faster, really work on that jab, in both speed and stopping power. Use feints in that footwork, try to get him to move the wrong way when he comes at you. Work on stamina, because you rarely get a chance to stand there with planted feet, you'll always be "bouncing" around. Finally, I'd recommend shadowboxing in the ring a lot. Really try to get a feel for that ring, and the size, so you don't work yourself into the corner.

Don't back up, and keep the combinations going. Throw a combination then slip out to the side. If you get caught by surprise put on a tight guard and get out of there. Watch Tyson vs Holyfield and Tyson vs Lewis and theres u blueprint for fighting a smaller guy.

thnx alot men.but my trainer said I am in perfect form already and almost no weaknesses(well in case of everyone I fight is in my level)but he was a former wrestler and muay thai fighter too.and among every one I fought he was the one that gave me trouble(more like nightmare)

I was so nervous when we sparred(I guess I really am sluggish coz of fear)
I do really rely on footwork and I always circle the ring:D when I fight.
yeah they can call me anything they want,but I can`t be touched(rjjj lol!)
I even handle myself well when I got cornered.but when ever I got a clean hit in the back of the head or top of it. everything in my system that can panic...well... uhm... panic.my left foot goes left ,my right foot goes right,my body goes some where else you get my point.

thing is I am a technician.all I do when I fight/sparr whether mma,grappling ,kick boxing or boxing I act with carefull strategies for me I can just call it mind games or chess in boxing(he he he )

uhm... btw trick how do you handle yourself when you go for an infight???

Handling pressure fighters.

Load up and throw uppercuts like your life depends on it. Head movement to throw them off, and when they reach the point of hesistation throw your shots then and get back out. They come back forward just move around laterally and they are bringing themselves into your range, so load up on a few more uppercuts. They'll soon get the hint not to come in like that...

Well, I'm like exige jr. I just like the hooks a little more. I find those uppercuts are ard to pull against a good short guy. I've come to be known as "The Tornado" Trick. Basically, when I go in close, I go in under cover of a jab, keep the head movin' and kinda let a (controlled) barrage go, using my (hopefully) superior speed to catch him as he opens up to respond to one of the punches. Don't stay in there for long though. I quickly get out, back to the outside. I then dive out of the ring, and hide behind my trainer in order to avoid the oncoming wrath.

i find alot of inside fighters are very open to uppercuts on the way in. i think the best way is to learn to figt inside, that way you can hold your own on the inside before pivoting out and planting some straight punches

Also, not like it's "THE THING" to do, but when an infighter comes at me head down... you know... I come at HIM hard, and use my hight. It's hard for him to hit me in the head if I don't let him get up. Takes some careful defense though, it leaves the body pretty open.

I`ve been doing a lot of uppercuts and body shots against infighters.
there is 1 guy in our gym that weaves like crazy!!
but I`m glad he can`t chase me when I move to the sides only when I began to move backwards.there was 1 time when I go for an infight and test what can I do against him.and I just missed alot of head shots.and he was dodging all my hooks like ****.I`m glad it was around20 sec. left when I did that and I decided to back away after giving him some body shots.

but my problem are the pressure fighters(as exige put it)who doesn`t even step back no matter what I do.

as I`ve said I have intimidated alot of my opp. with my jabs,and frustrate them with my footwork,defense,feints and agility.


so I really guess if I got to face a brwler type of fighter I am in deep **** as I found out no matter how good my techniques are.if they don`t get intimidated I`m ****ed.

and I will loose on the guts department I guess.


when it comes to taking shots I can take body shots and head shots pretty well.
but when it comes to shots that goes behind the ear.I`m ****ed and I never like the feeling.
I guess the saying is true about " the punch that hurts the most are punches you don`t see"

when he gets in close you should grab him, pivot and push him away then punch him as he regains his balance

yeah I`ve been doing some dirty boxing to be honest when I fight :D
though I know I should not do it in other gyms coz it would bring trouble when we are ask or even visit other gyms.

I`ve been guilty of stepping ,holding and loves to apply collar tie clinch then punch away.

I wanna learn how to properly use the shoulders to hit and push not just to block
as I saw some dirty fighters do this stuff.
but for headbutts it will be a nono :nonono: as of now.
