i think cro cop is a bit over rated just now goin into ufc and people sayin he is goin to clean up, tim silvia although not a great fighter is a dangerous one, and there is plenty of heavyweights who could give cro cop trouble, like they said at the weekend, these guys have been fightin in japan against good fighters but who has seen then, ufc is where they want to be

Here is a fact.

UFC makes more money then Pride, this coupled with the fact that Pride doesn't have a TV deal in it's native land, is why Pride is going to go bankrupt in the very near future if it doesn't get bought out by one of the people or companies looking to purchase it.

Anybody who disagrees, I can post a number of articles that say the exact same thing.

Now as far as quality of fighters goes, yes Pride does have the better and deeper fighters, that isn't up for deabte. But who is getting more and more new, quality fighters to bolster their depth charts? The UFC.

He's unknown in the states. (At least to the average TUF fan..)
So far , Crocop did nothing spectacular. He was pretty much bored.
He was just chasing Sanchez and trying to land something here and there...

I agree, cro cop will dominate the heavy weight division without a doubt. there is no one in the ufc that he cant beat.

the only way i see this guy losing is by disqualification...or maybe a fluke...But naah! He already had a taste of that and he's not gonna underestimate no one.

pride and k1 have more exciting fights but im defo feeling the ufc.
i hated the ground game but ive been getting to like it more n more.

pride events are good but anybody can beat anybody it sometimes
seems, which sorta takes away from the story/drama that i love.

thats what sets ufc apart IMO, they have great characters and
the surprises usually arent just koes via knee, elbow or highkick.
also they look more professional, alot of the k1/pride fighters just
look like ur local muscleman without great technical ability

Hard to tell...
One thing I do know is that He wouldn't beat ufc's ex-pride fighter , Mirko Filipovic.
So even if He beats Sylvia , he wouldn't stay "champ" for long.

On the ground , Couture wouldn't do **** to a guy like Mirko.
This isn't 2002 or 2003 anymore...
Back then , He was subbed by Nogueira but He knew some basics and nothing more.
Today , the guy is trained by Werdum.
The guy dominates barnett at his own game. (wrestling)
and had to constantly defend ground attacks from Fedor... "the" Fedor.

As far as Couture vs sylvia is concerned..That's a mystery.
Although , Couture said that He already had many sparring sessions with Tim.

yea everythin your saying is true, but i think randy beats tim standing or on ground, unless his age really does take its toll, and for cro cop i still say he is over rated and his ground game and tale down defence is not the best, but still good, id say randy has a chance of beatin him, and cro cop would give him alot of respect.....

I think he's very far from being overrated.
I will say this though..

There's 2 major problems that I have with this guy.

1) Each time He gets over confident. He ****s things up.
It's as if He always needs this "reality check" (loss) moment in his career to "keep it real". And not be full of Himself.

His loss vs Randleman. Totally useless.
Sure , He won His rematch in less than 40 seconds.
But that's the **** I'm talking about.
He had to go through this , in order to take his opponent "seriously".
That's a huge weakness imo.

2nd) Major problem.
That guy doesn't have the heart of a champion.
Or maybe today He does. (He did a great job at pride's OWGP).
But that's the feeling I'm getting from this guy.

In the end , Tyson never had what it takes either.
Tyson would always have some sort of temp mental breakdown or He would get pissed , frustrated...each time none of his punches had any effects on his opponents or if he was getting outboxed.
He couldn't keep his calm and would **** it up.
He did it vs williams , McBride , Lennox , Douglas...in all his losses...
He even did it vs Botha. (even though He still won that one).

Holyfield had the heart of a champ.
In mma , Nogueira has what it takes too. Same goes for Fedor. (and a few others).

I don't know if the Mirko of 2007 has totally changed.
But If He's really as motivated as He was during pride's last grand prix.
Then no one's gonna stop Him.
Otherwise.

A possible fluke could strike again. Even vs a lesser skilled opponent.
If He starts to take his opponents like pure "jokes".
He'll pay for it big time.

The whole idea centered around Mirko entering the UFC to the PRIDE theme, and there was a Sakakabura (PRIDE C.E.O.) statement about how Mirko was their "secret weapon".

Remember when Rogan asked Mirko to "walk him through the knockout"? and Mirko was totally silent? lol there was a line of text in the video something to the effect of: "ya ya, I don't give a ****".

Afterwards Mirko didn't show up at the presser either and White was pissed.

I agree with the guy who was talking about heart of a champion. Nogueira and Fedor definitely have it. Couture has it. GSP has it. Henzo Gracie has it. It comes with great intellectual development; understanding oneself.

He used the entrance music from pride as a respect and goodbye to the organization, not to make him seem like he's taking over and repping them. And White shouldve gave him a better fight than sanchez cause Cro Cop did look pretty bored chasing him around. Before the fight cro cop looked more cooler than the ice man chuck liddell, they need to give him bigger names next time to show him whats up.
