I dont understand why people cant like both. I love boxing but I also like watching the ufc. those guys are great athletes. I dont think either one is going to take over the other

tito/liddell 2 was boring. The fights I saw from 67 were decent though.

you clearly either never watched the ufc or you hate violence becuase if anything there's a lot more knockouts and guys getting there limbs twisted and broken then there is in boxing. I happen to like both sports. they both have good athletes and competitors

how is it even poss to think this, the hole time you had to be thinkin is chuck gonna knock him out, he had him hurt badly in the first round and bleeding, tito came back to win the second round with lots of kicks to legs and a few to the body hurt his foot at the end of the round on chucks leg and then in the 3rd chuck finished him of with like a 20 punch combo lol

MMA is better than boxing in my opinion. More often than in boxing in mma the huge fights get made and theyre competitive. Last weekends UFC wasnt a good example of that but it is the case.

well, before knock outs in boxing there is alot of jabs, does this make the fight less boxing, jabbin in boxing is like ju jitus on the floor in a MMA cage, it takes alot more out of u being on the floor than it does standing up and punching, the stand up game is alot slower than the ground because you cant make one wrong move of you will get tapped out or give up ur back or somethin

Boxing is my favourite combat sport...

I used to be a huge MMA fan but after watching some of the boxing greats and getting directly involved in boxing matches it really got me hooked, I guess I found out why people call it a sweet science.

I still enjoy watching MMA and K-1 but I feel boxing matches are most exiciting (IMO)...

Ofcourse Mirko should train for any fight cause underestimating an opponent will be a huge mistake (see Crocop vs. Randleman or Mike Mcdonald).

UFC has been around less than 15 years. much of which it was at best considered an underground sport. There has not been time for a star like Ali to develop yet as its only been mainstream for a couple of years under the Zuffa's and it just starting to really take off in popularity comparitively

ali is one of my heros....i mean the fact that he converted to islam ( made me very happy, iam muslim myself) and became champ and all....i love the dude and respect him.....BUT he was no where near dominate as the a mma fighter in fedor!

fedor is better than ali-boxing/fighting wise imho! fedor is for sure the best fighter ever-dead or alive! hes beat the unbeatable ( in nog) and outstriked the best strikers in mma history ( cro-cop, hunt) and just ran thru every opponent hes faced! mentally he is a genius and his personality with every fight, shocks me ( how the **** does he stay so calm)! i mean i dont think he had anywhere near the impact on his fans ( its kinda hard when he steam rolls thru his oppoents with ease) but no one honestly believes they can beat him! He changes his game plan every fight and his adjustments are perfect! his simply amazing to watch and i dont ever see him losing!

I really don't understand why they even bother having a MMA discussion on boxingscene.com considering that a lot of the audiences are loyalists to boxing and will not really have any full knowledge of MMA. But I know there area few of you guys that do keep up with MMA.

Boxing and MMA are 2 totally different sports which take two totally different skill sets. I don't see why ppl have to like one or the other. i agree 100%...i train bothing boxing and mma and i think those big huge gloves kill your speed ( speed is power) with those babi 4 oz gloves, somone like ernie shavers would have killed someone if he landed!
